hey knucks - if you're looking increase your max bench; what leeacto does work for some people. but I've seen that for most people, a mix of max effort exercises combined with dynamic effort exercises work the best. you probably know this already, but one key factor in increase your max bench (squat and deadlifts), is to increase your speed. that's what dynamic effort exercises help with. look up the westwide barbell routine and it should give you some insight.

So I'm seeing if I hit my triceps hard, if they'll grow and help with bench
aka heavy pushdowns, overhead presses, etc etc
if I could offer some advice, if you're trying to help your bench via tricep exercises, I suggest the following:
- weighted dips (fucking amazing for your bench)
- close-grip bench presses
- skullcrushers
- overhead tricep extensions
I'm not a big fan of pushdowns, I always saw it as a "pump" exercise. never worked for me, but if it works for you, hey more power to ya

There is such thing as overdoing it. Moderation is key, for the most part. Working out the same muscles over and over again isn't going to help because it's important to let your muscles heal themselves. Also over nutrition is a leading cause of cancer . I understand where you're coming from because I use to consume protein bars and eat straight tuna out of the can, just so I could get as much protein as i could.
oh most definitely. while I only work out each muscle group once per week to avoid over training, I don't really care if my over nutrition causes cancer. I would like it if I didn't live past 50.

you should be intaking more healthy fats, imo. under 100 is low.
actually after looking at my diet again, I think you maybe be right about the good fats part. I'll probably strike out the cashews and opt for fish or flaxseed oil instead. but I probably won't increase my total fat intake by much; maybe up to 90g of fat. my body seems to pack on a little more body fat than I'd like when I up my fat intake. I usually like to keep my body fat down around 7-9% year round.

your "man boobs" are from being fat. benching won't make you not fat. a well composed diet will.

i hit rock bottom years ago when i was making tuna and milk shakes to pack on the protein
2 cans tuna, 8oz whole milk. blender. not good.
there was a point where I'd put a half cup of dry oatmeal, protein powder, and 3 tablespoons of olive oil into a blender. but your concoction sounds worse

eating that much protein isnt going to do you any good, youre going to end up shitting out most of it because your body can only use so much of it.
well aware of that, it just sits better with my mind that I'm getting too much rather than not enough.
this is true to an extent. even protein can be stored as fat, given that he doesn't do any/much cardioI just think I'm blessed with a fast metabolism. I don't do an ounce of cardio, I eat this much and I still manage to stay lean year 'round. the down side to this is it's harder for me to pack on size

usually day consists of ~360-400g protein, ~250-300g carbs, ~65-80g fats. ~3000-3500 calories a day. and I only weigh in at a whopping 171 lbs

I think that whole low carb thing is kind of bullshit. Your body needs those carbs. I was actually reading this article http://tinyurl.com/69ubnr and it talks about how chinese people don't count calories and consume staple foods. Low-fat diets are less effective than low glycemic load diets. I don't count carbs but I have started to watch what I eat.
you're right to think that the whole low carb thing is bullshit, because it is.
sure, if you're trying to trying to lose some fat it's definitely good to cut some carbs from your diet. but not completely or keeping them low every day. but if some of you guys insist on going on some type of no-carb/low-carb diet, I suggest you look into ketogenic diets. but even those have refeed days during the week.

how is 800 calories "legit"? I can't imagine putting any guy on a diet on 800 calories with not carbs, especially if he does manual labor all day long. I'm sorry but that's stupid.

I just take it about 15-30 minutes before workouts in a little water. 1/4 tsp of alcar and 1/4 tsp of chocamine.
I suggest getting the 1fast400 brand. best bang for the buck.
I can't fucking get rid of the very slight ab and lower back fat that I have. It's pissing me off. I do manual labour all day and work out and eat barely 800 calories with almost no carbs. Oh btw kunk facebookd you.800 calories? seems like that's your problem. your body might be in starvation mode, warding off fat loss.
