Funny you should say that, I until five weeks ago worked there, I now work at the Travelodge.

In my opinion Sandman isn't all that much better than any other 3.5 diamond hotel.

Edit: Worked at the Sandman in Victoria, that is.

need some nice quality dress shoes for work. ferragamo? no more than $300. ferramgamo is out of the question actually and i have a feeling $300 is on the super low end.

Charles Tyrwhitt, Allen Edmonds and Florsheim all have good shoes in the 1-3 hundred price range.

Anybody have experience with WESC gear, specifically pea coats? The pea coat they have this season (80/20 wool/nylon) has a much nicer fit on my slim frame than the Spiewalks, but its a bit more, AND has that gaudy WESC stitching on the left breast.

Anybody know if their coats are well constructed etc.? The price at the store where I tried it on is 275 CAD + tax.

Chelsea=boots with the elastic on the side instead of zips or laces. Those are motorcycle boots as others pointed out and frye makes some pretty cool ones. Designers release some from time to time if you want more designery models.

These, and Chelsea style boots, are often referred to as "riding boots" so you could search for that as well.

But I know that Frye has that EXACT boot, to a T.

That style is called a Jodhpur boot and I know that Frye makes that exact boot, I saw a pair today but it was IRL so I don't have a link.

I just got a pair of zip up black J Lindeberg boots, trying to find a picture as I'm at work and have no camera. Ran me about 450 and I also got a JL belt for 170.

Those are the boots, and the belt is plain black leather with the JL logo for the buckle.

soak your jeans in super hot water, toss em in the dryer set to super high.

HOW DO I GET MAXIMUM SHRINKAGE? I dont care if they stretch again, i only want the knee area to shrink noticably, the waist is fine because I can wear a belt.

I don't care about starch OR color, just shrinking the jeans.

sanforized, will barely shrink. trust me i tried it. only the inseam shrunk for me

So the APCs are sanfordized? How come I've heard reports of the NS shrinking an inch in the waist then?

Yes the waist will stretch back, but the knees etc. will shrink enough to make a difference. How can I maximize the shrinkage? Multiple hot soaks?

Again, they're black so I'm not worried about the color.

I'm considering soaking my black NS because i didn't size down enough(got 31s, should have got 30s)

From the soaking thread I've collected many different opinions, should I do 30 minutes inside out in cold water, no agitation? or multiple hours in a hot soak? all I want is maximum shrinkage with minimal color loss, I don't care about starch.

Yep, as I suspected. One of the owners of one of my favorite stores had warned me about APC fakes for some reason when I had mentioned ordering them.

I really could have sized down another inch though, which is strange considering I would never have considered trying as low as 30.

I just got a pair of NS in 31, my actual size is 32, and I could have sized down at least one more inch for sure, I'm swimming in these 31s

Short answer though, I am skinny as a rail (5'11 and 135) and they look great on me( If i do say so myself)

Are my APCs real? These are black NS in 31, but theres no selvedge line(I assumed there would be, i may very well be wrong though). I ordered directly from the APC website, so I'm very confused.
