another +1 for Blacows in Tokyo.  easily the best burger worldwide in my experience. 
make sure to ask for no tartar sauce or bbq sauce.  not sure who thought that was a good idea. 

accepted a job running an F&B/Lifestyle company focusing on SE Asia.  still DJing and actively touring (although a bit less than before).  opening for Pitbull on Friday, F1 season in Sing after that.  life is weird but rad.

Yeah, Osaka is a wasteland. There are still parties but it's really small relative to how it was 2 years ago. 

As for Tokyo it's really random who is feeling the pressure at any given time. Air/Trump seem to be fine. Camelot is variable.  Vanity is now V2.  Jumanji55 party has been moved to Greenland as JMJ/NewPlanet is feeling the pressure but Greenland is not (for reasons unknown).  It's all such an incredible waste of time.  I sincerely hope Let's Dance can make some inroad but I won't be surprised when they don't. 

As for Taiwan, spin out there pretty often.  Just got back from a three city tour for Heineken  Good times.  Beezy factor high.

I was in Osaka two weeks ago; seems like police crackdown has won. =\

 

I didn't realize Tokyo clubs were feeling the same wrath; aren't Air/Muse/Trump etc still doing their usual thing?

We've mostly been looking at Gaijin houses, specifically www.sakura-house.com but I have no idea if that's reasonable/sketchy/etc. The prices are absurdly good though...

In grad school I lived in the Shibuya Sakura House right next to Womb (a fact they conveniently forgot to mention to me when I went to see the apartment during the day). It was a shared bathroom/shared kitchen 7 or 8 unit "house" and was totally fine as a place to crash at the end of the day but little more than that. Other inhabitants were a mix of Europeans on extended vacations and Japanese bicycle messengers. Overall, as a place for you and your girl, unless you want to wait for the shower and such, I'd look elsewhere.

48 should be a good slim fit. I'm 5'9" 150 and my 48 2nd generation TOJ MA-1 fits perfect.

Finally made it to Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku.

So unbelievably weird and awesome. Highly highly recommended stop. Eat beforehand though. The bento they served looked quite unappealing.
