This may be a dumb question but I am kind of confused. I bought a pair fo S0500XX from BiG last week with no intention of pocket stitching but upon looking through the forums I see that alot of peoples pairs of the same DO have pocket stitching. I just returned the S0500XX for a pair of S5000VXs can I be assured that they will have the stitching? I really like it
Thanks
The jeans with stiching and tabs were likely purchased overseas from either HK or Japan directly, or alternatively before the arc/tab ban was enforced by the levi's lawsuit. I believe all jeans in question sold through a US retailer must now have arcs and tabs removed.

Samurai S510XX, 21oz - hot soaked once for 30 min, hang dried. Size 33w, hemmed to a 33 length. I'm 5'8" about 175 lbs. These jeans feel like they can survive a nuclear blast

Selling a pair of these over on the supermarket. Bought a 32 but they're just too small (got a 33 instead) so I'm selling them. Got these direct from 2nd so the tab and arcs are intact. Winter's just around the corner!

SOLD
Heavyweight 21oz Samurai S510XX for sale. These have been hot soaked once, and warm washed once with a very mild baby detergent. Hang dried both times. Only worn a few times around the house, but are just too small for me. Bought these from 2nd so tabs and arcs are intact. These are still very dark, last photo with the tag is most indicative of the true color.
Tag size: 32 x 36
Actual waist: 32
Actual length: 34.5
Leg opening: 8.5
Asking $195 shipped.

i don't expect to find much agreement, and i hesitate to write this as i rate kiya for all the knowledge etc he bring to this board (that's why i don't for one minute question his motives), but this whole thread bothers me.
it boils down to the fact that i can't look at any of those pictures without thinking 'Derelicte'.
the sentence "broox story, as told through his jeans" just seems so overly-dramatic and faux romantic.
yes, this guy has made a lifestyle choice...yada yada...but when i used to read all those lame arse comments about how 'homeless people must get sick fades haha...' i never really wanted to know the answer.
nathan barley, anyone?
I initially thought this as well, but then I took it for what it was...an interesting, fun "what if" study. No harm, no foul. Sure, we can all look at these jeans and say "weak honeycombs!" or "not enough contrast on the whiskers!" but I'm sure this guy can take one look and remember those months he spent in them, good times and bad. So to him they may tell a story but for us on the outside, we can only critique the objective features of these pants. The rest is left to our imagination.
I'm sure each and every one of us has favorite articles of clothing that we wore way past their usable service life. To most they're just old clothes but to us they represent a lotta livin'. Even now I can think about my first pair of STF 501s many moons ago, it takes me back to my first serious girlfriend, working at Tower Records and getting stoned in the back during lunch, and all kinds of trouble my friends and I got into. Good times. So maybe the story isn't for everyone to know, but for this guy it's very real, and I can certainly relate to that.

anyone buy a pair from 2nd and get dinged with customs? right now it is $240 with shipping from 2nd for a pair of BK's. Does that sound okay?
Sounds right - I bought the 21oz S510XX from 2nd and was charged $34 for duties/taxes/shipping/whatever. Not bad considering I ordered the jeans on a Friday and they arrived at my doorstep in California on Monday.
Retail on the BKs from 2nd looks to be about $207, so $240 shipped is on par with what I paid.

I have a pair of the S3000s...bought them from BiG a couple of months ago. they got 2 pairs in stock, one in my size (33) so I picked it up. No red tab, but arcs are painted on so they couldn't be removed.
I believe you can still get them from Take5 and 2nd.
From what I was told by Gordon and the gal from Samurai (Tomiko? forgot her name), the S3000 is a looser fit than the S0510. In order of "looseness", they said S3000 > S0510 > S5000. I had asked about this because I was specifically looking for a relaxed fit.

S3000vx fits looser than the S5000
Here is a comparison of the fits, side by side. You have to scroll down a little bit.

Snugglepony: On the Take5 website there are some Samurai jeans called
"Samurai S0510XX66II 66 Cutting Jeans"
There's not much information on them, I'm just not familiar with the term "Cutting Jeans"

This is probably a dumb question but...what the heck are "Cutting Jeans"?

Just bought these online, but didn't realize they were sanforized so after a hot soak and hang dry they didn't shrink like I thought they were going to and now they are just too big. Selling these and sizing down one instead of sizing up like I did.
Measurements:
Waist: 35"
Inseam: 36.5"
Leg Opening: 10"
Asking $225 shipped, PayPal preferred. More pictures available upon request.

Try Take5 jeans in HK. Best thing to do is email them at [email protected]. I've bought stuff from them before through email (i'm also in the bay area). They are easy and pleasant to deal with, speak english, and have pretty good response time and shipping.
