  1. yeah, mine look about the same...no need to post anything

i've got a bit more thigh wear, and less whiskering.

    nice shots in the light..

hard to do the different shades justice, but you caught them all

  2. any pics of how the fading is going on these bad boys?

    soon come.

    it is amazing..

so many different shades of indigo/blue on one garment.

my wallet is really showing some wear, and there is a hint of whiskering.

also, i woke up on Monday and found some severe left leg twisting.

mine have softened up quite a bit, due to 80+ degree heat (schwetty balls;))

and i think the water in my apartment building could have something to do with it as well.

I will search, but has anyone checked out the effect 'hard water' has on stiff denim? In general my jeans seems to soften up faster than a lot of others after soaking...of course it could just be me wearing them a lot, but still

  3. i know jazz sucks...

    blasphemy!!!!!!:D

    ltj bukem - journey inwards

bob james - bob james I

    oh my....

if you like LTJ, I have at least 10 albums from him (and his record label) that you will love...

search the interwebz for "Good Looking Records"- i guarantee you'll find some the finest Jazz/ Drum and Bass / Ambient / Rare Groove stuff in the world..

search for "Progression Sessions," the "Earth" series, and "The Ingredients" (check out volumes I and II.

Since I started producing a few years back, I started investigating my parent's record collections....well over 500 albums in their basement alone (pops used to be a radio DJ in the 70's), so I have access to every great funk/jazz/fusion album on vinyl.....no better way to create quality music for the future than to study the great stuff from the past.

I admit I haven't read too many of the other responses yet, but i've got a huge list of artists and albums to recommend....just ask, and i'd be glad to share some

  4. really don't have much to add, other than i'm glad to see some superfuturians repping the illadelph.

i'm a bit ashamed to say i was unaware of the number of shops in this city!

    i now know better...

perhaps i'll run into a few of you in the coming months

when i blow my paychecks (it's worse now that i'm working downtown, ha)

  5. Africa is not an easy spot to figure out. Charity money gets spent on Land Rovers. The people should most likely be growing corn to feed themsleves, instead of cotton.

gotta be one of the most ignorant things i have ever seen typed.

Africa is an easy spot to figure out...

i'm quite sure if the people (without connections to imperialist forces/influence) actually HAD a say in the way their countries were governed, they would "be growing corn feed" (they already grow millet) instead of cotton.

They'd also have control over their own oil supplies and mines instead of letting Asia, Europe, and the US continue to reap the benefits.

and don't get me started on the disparities that are kept in tact by the world bank..

  6. thank you all for enlightening me..

Denim has so much history, it's great learning new stuff..

i admit was somewhat aware of the transition from plant to dye involving chemicals and human processing (i.e. 'synthetic') but the end results can be vastly different.

I think i even recall reading (waaaaaay back in middle school) that indigenous peoples used urea in their processing to make the indigo dyes last longer...synthetic indeed:D

I guess what i meant was that next to my RRDS, the pbjs are like 10x more "indigo"..

even the XX007 weft is dyed with a "truer" closer-to-the-plant-color than the main dyed yarn used in nudie's japanese denim....imho

i am a fairly artistic guy, so i tend to see colors in an intense manner, and there is very little comparison in hue between the rrds and xx007s

.......either way the color on these is one to behold, and i am officially addicted to japanese denims.

  7. "The XX-007 uses genuine indigo

dyed warp and weft (threads and yarns) to create a solid blue indigo jean."

    big website

    i assume genuine means non-synthetic..

    maybe that's just me

  8. enjoy:

    pbj007denim.jpg

    and...

    pbjfresh.jpg

should probz introduce as i am nOOb.

been lurking for a minute, and i dig the vibes..got started on nudies (yes i know...)

i have some olas that are decent, about 6 months wear

a pair of RRDS 1 1/2 hour hot soak coming along nicely- almost a month

and my 007's just came yesterday, so i figured it was worth joining the club..

the fit is good after a 1/2 hour cold soak..still a little too long for me, but the selvage is so amazing that it doesn't matter. blue is my favorite color..clearly.

i sized up to a 36 which worked out with the shorter soak, as i have soccer legs..

so they aren't too tight..no colors ran during/after the soak

after a strenuous day sitting on my ass at my office and in traffic:D, there is minimal but visible wallet wear...very shiny, with lighter indigo undertones

i predict fading on these will be an experience..i don't think i'm ever going back to synthetic indigo.

oh and around a belt loop or two you can see the thread unwound a bit. there is definitely a white core, but this shit was heavily dyed..like really, for real.

    the ends fade to white.

as far as stiffness, i like wearing raw jeans when they are damp to avoid pain on the leggies. my combs and such set in so the only really cardboardish areas are where the jeans are stacking.

btw respect to blue in green and all denim shops on the interwebz

it's nice getting quality clothing that you know will last you a long time.
