  1. I honestly don't mind, I've been too busy with work to have a social life haha. Let's kick it somewhere - I'm not as familiar with south bay as I'm not from around here originally - would Santana Row work or is that too boring?

  2. Hey everyone,

It's with great sadness that I am selling off my beloved Buzz Rickson MA-1, it took me a lot of hard work walking all over Tokyo trying to find the very last new one in 40 Regular. Unfortunately, I'm in the process of moving so you may have seen many of my shoes being listed and sold as of late. I need to fund my trip so I will be selling this piece. Make my loss your gain - this jacket needs no introduction! Again, this jacket is brand new, guaranteed - tried on a few times but never worn out after it was purchased and brought home.

The jacket is hard to come across and those of you who love Buzz Rickson will know that they pump out some quality stuff. To get some more on the details: Click Here

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, but I'm looking for a quick sale for the price is firm at this moment.

    Quick facts:

    • Size 40R
    • Slimmer fitting on the body than the standard BR MA-1
    • Very high quality repro fabrics/zippers
    • Versatile weight and warmth
    • Sold out almost everywhere; very limited production
    • Selling for only $490 + shipping! (Int'l ok too!)

    Pictures:

Attention to detail shows even on the shuttle loom produced labels.

    Brand new, with tags.

Sturdy construction, thick and warm cotton lined pockets, with heavy duty snap.

  3. Hey everyone,

I'm excited to say that I'm going to Japan for the first time tomorrow, definitely the highlight of my Asia trip this year. Trying to get prepared, I spent a considerable amount of money on Japanese catalogs and magazines (Toys McCoy, Lightning, etc) to try to get an idea of what shops are available in the Tokyo district. However, upon looking at these magazines and online sources, I was overwhelmed with the sheer amount of shops that I could visit.

That being said, I'm trying to see if I can get some first-hand recommendations from you all on places that offer the goods I'm looking for at reasonable prices :)

    Specifically:

*Buzz Rickson - looking for the William Gibson MA-1

    *Toys McCoy/ Real McCoy

*Long leather wallets - brands and shops less known outside of Japan

*Iron Heart, Flat Head - looking for slimmer cuts

I suppose I'm looking for shops that have a good assortment of products, or at the very least a thorough collection of a certain brand, that way I can try on different sizes to get a better feel of the fit. I haven't been fortunate enough to get a chance to try this stuff on back in the states :(

PS - staying in the Shinjuku (Prince Hotel)

    Thanks so much in advance,

    David

  5. Yay! Got my J.Crew Captoes in #8 finally. Literally waited about 2 months - damn things were on hold for so long.

Sadly the high cost of them + needing suits means my beloved Ultimate Jumpers have to go lol. I wonder if I should do commando soles again...this time on the #8's.

  6. Hey everyone,

Looking to sell my MINT condition Steinhart GMT Ocean 1 (Black & Red bezel aka "Coke"). For all you Steinhart lovers out there, like myself, you know their watches represent great value. They're made in Switzerland and come with a 2 year warranty. I've been meaning to get around to wearing this watch but I wear my other Ocean 1 so often that I haven't given much love to the GMT

If you know a little about Steinhart, you'll know that they use Swiss movements. This particular watch uses the ETA 2893-2; tons of reputable watch brands use ETA/Valjoux movements, in fact only a few companies use 'homegrown' movements (Patek, AP, JLC, etc). That being said, a watch equipped with an ETA movement will run perfectly fine!

I'd say the best part of owning a Steinhart is being backed by superb, personal customer service. They often disregard warranty and the formal process and simply offer any help they can if you encounter any issues with their product. In fact, this particular watch will run even better than one purchased elsewhere. Steinhart offered to tune-up/service this near-new watch at no cost to me since I was getting my year-old Ocean 1 Vintage Red serviced (they changed the glass to Sapphire, at no cost; overnight international shipping too!).

I double checked with Steinhart when I purchased the watch: You CAN switch the bezels. This means you can get a black or Pepsi (blue/red) bezel slapped on if you are so inclined. Spare bracelets are available as well. This watch will include ALL the links, papers, box, etc. Everything is original, even the hangtag.

I'm looking to get $400 + shipping OBO. The watch is so new that you can consider it "tried on".

Note: This watch sells for $458 USD + shipping, so this is a great deal; just looking to sell quick!

  7. Steinhart is good stuff.

I have a few Ocean 1's { I'm actually selling my GMT right now ;) } and they've all been really good. The ETA movements are superb, and customer service is second to none.

What does everyone think of the PAM 48 (Panerai); thinking about picking one of those up. Also, anyone have experience with Rolex servicing? I need to send a Day-Date in...thing is super old.
