  1. From what I read on it a few weeks back, isn't it because they decided to not include a remote shut off to save some money? It amazes me that a company can do something so incredibly stupid knowing what a huge problem it could cause, but because it's an oil company, they get away with it.

BP should have to pay for every single aspect of this cleanup, but of course, they won't.

  2. People are fucking lazy.

In a similar vein; I walk through a mall every day on my way to work and there's a narrow doorway with the usual mall type doors, but only two of them. A huge group of people were syphoning through the one side, and this woman in front of me sat there for the entire time so that she could go through without having to open the other door. She stood in front of the other door though, blocking me... and the damn thing wasn't broken or anything. Lazy bitch.

Getting back into a daily regimen, I may have overdid it yesterday. My arms feel like they're bruised all over from the elbow up. Damnit.

  3. either jet grind radio or parasite eve

thanks for reminding me of parasite eve. i wanted that game for years when it came out, but never got a hold of it. i think i need to hunt it down on ebay.

replayed symphony of the night last month. it's still damn good... but i forgot how straight forward it is, and how short :(.

i found this tucked in a box in my closet... HELL YES

  4. if you're working your way west and j+o is your last visit, walk north up ossington a bit and hit pizzeria libretto. iirc hocus works there. every time i've gone in the evening it's been packed.

  5. You forgot a third category: Those who don't post fits and/or who do not seek the approval of random strangers on the internet (5)

I would argue it almost constitutes a division between the purist denim people (like myself) who really are only interested in jeans, and those who are interested in fashion trends and outfits. Quite frankly my interest lies more in watching how different textiles vary over time, and not so much goth ninja. I always thought goth ninja should be renamed anorexic clinically depressed...

Why can't we serve both populations and be happy? You could even start a "goth ninja 0nly" WAWYT and the rest of us could mock it and then we could have a fun division into two parties, where one party goes to /b/ to trod upon the first and the other goes to the bakabt forums.

Look it's a silly argument. If you like the old outfits, fine. Go look at them in the first 200 pages of WAYWT. I would hope most of those imagehosts (and the accounts) still exist. I feel like delta in WAYWT (and discussions like this) collected over 20 years would be fucking awesome.

...the superdenim area is the section where post in-jean pissing, someone still questioned if they should wash their denim or not, right? (5)

fapping over some hand-woven, super-rare natural indigo dye jeans that are limited to 50 pairs worldwide is the same as dudes who covet some reverse calf leather boots or ccp stuff. the common thread between superdenim and superfashion is a desire for quality, and exclusivity. i think it was a good idea to have a separate waywt for superdenim because of what you mentioned; everybody gets to witness some evolution due to wear. but the other waywts are great because they have/had different styles. there's something for everyone. and hell, while it's rare, superdenim and superfashion combine; when everybody was rocking diors there were some really nice fades over time.

if you really think there's only 2 different "populations" then you probably miss the point.

  6. yeah, rugby's pretty big up here, Hap. Good points though, and it all does make sense.

edn0b, it's true, some of the guys who were doing interesting stuff 2 or 3 years back are still around, still doing it. And something can be said of people who have stuck with their look. It just feels like there's less of the standout ones these days, and that there's less variety in the waywt threads because of it. Back then there were a lot of very different looks and each had some members who pulled it off well. The diversity has always been something sufu has compared to hypebeast or SZ.

People fall into two camps for waywt; those that post regularly to document their daily looks, or those that post sporadically whenever they feel they have something worth sharing. Neither is wrong, it's open to interpretation. I hardly post because I wear very nearly the same thing throughout the week. I think it's pretty boring don't feel like doing almost-repeats in the thread.

waywt was great for inspiration, to give people new ideas that might apply to their own wardrobe, or even move it in a new direction. Plus if you took part, you could get opinions from others on what to improve on. Now a huge part of waywt is just giving people endless examples of the same JCrew red chambray on slightly different builds.

  7. bonnaroo does give off a hippy vibe but the lineup is usually good. i went to lollapalooza a few years back and was considering it this year. the lineup is usually worse but you're right in downtown chicago so you always have a good city. with shitty headliners this year like green day, it just means you can beat the rush to good restaurants/bars.

re: facebook. i use it but i'll agree i feel it cheapens the grieving process. seeing "rip whomever" in somebody's status just feels like an attention grab. i'm not going to say grieving should be a private affair because everybody has their own methods, but i always thought if you've lost someone and don't grieve alone, you'd be with other people who had a connection to the person. getting random "sorry for your loss" messages on a website doesn't seem the same to me. ymmv.

  8. LOL @ the neg rep he tried to leave me. am i supposed to get offended?

reputation_balance.gifworst waywt fits 05-08-10 02:00 PM Jack Straw FUCKING HATE GOOKS

brad pitt looks like he belongs in a sweatshop
but i have lost just about all respect for a bunch of you who dont appreciate diversity or criticize me for it or whatever. just grow up and think for once. it may be a joke but have some class.

...really? he throws those out there, and less than an hour after the second quote gives us some "wa wa diversity" shit?

making jokes about gingers because of a popular cartoon isn't the same as racist remarks. jack straw's a red head, mia's video featured red heads. does this mean everybody posting members in the lookalikes thread are being racists too?

his hair colour isn't even the main problem with the picture. it's the raggedy andy hair. if he cut it so it didn't remind me of some gender-bending real-life pepper ann, as has been said it'd be just another fit in waywt.

  9. Want to rep badly for seersucker comment.

It's not a progessive forum anymore, it's regressive. The ridiculous cosplay look some of the sz types cultivated was too much of a caricature for a lot of people, plus the cost aspect turned people off of wanting to look like some sort of extra in a live action final fantasy movie. Shit got played out (if you read/heard "goth ninja" anywhere outside of the internet, that's a sign).

Somehow people latched onto the idea of now spending large sums of money on denim that has all the attention to fit that you'd get shopping at K-Mart. Or they'll dress like they spend 9 months on a fishing trawler. Immaculately-kept workwear is just as stupid as hypeninjagothbeast.

The connection between superfashion and either waywt thread is weak at best these days. Worm got shit for changing his look drastically and quickly a few years ago, but it's a lot more interesting than a dozen consecutive, interchangeable chambray/chino posts.

  10. tdt20100509.png

the pc was acting up the past month so i put an old image on from last summer. had to redo all my desktop junk, been fiddling with rainlendar for the past hour. only things i forgot to back up were my firefox bookmarks (nooooo), and some photoshop actions i had made.

  11. normal snake eater. it just means i go into first person every couple steps just to look for guards. or snakes.

looks like i missed some camos and other hidden stuff years ago, so it'll give me something to aim for.

  12. my gamecube came with a collection disc that had every older system's zelda games. thought that was pretty handy.

i'm going through another round of mgs3 because it's the one that i don't have practically memorized. not having radar is shit.
