If any of you guys are into vintage sewing machines as I am, I had trouble finding a place that could answer a lot of questions I had about the different models I owned and wanted to own.
So I just made a new forum that's just for vintage sewing machines, industrial (what I'm into) and domestic (what I started with).
It's still new, but once the word gets out I think it could turn into a great resource for those of use into the old machines.
If you want to check it out it's www.vintagesewingforum.com
feel free to delete this post if it's out of context...

it's not really LVC, but it is interesting at least to me. I found this pair of 517's at a thrift store with a spanish tag... I've not seen one like it before. I assume they were bought in mexico and then given to the thrift store later in life when they made it to the usa...

Thought I should do a 6 month update. I think they'll get a wash today too. They've had a cold soak and one wash to this point. I'll post "post" wash pics later...

Okay, starting off, and I'll be posting a few more pairs over the days. Cleaning out the back room.
First pair for sale.

I think these are a size 12 as I'm an 11 1/2 and they're a bit loose on me.
Inside reads M 14 12 88.
measure about 13 1/2 x 4 1/2.

ants are cool. Try moving to LA... huge shock on the price of just rent from what you pay for a house elsewhere....

Yeah, I going to mention the ants on those... They love them....

I like how you look both ways... in case of traffic on your patio.

Was this ever decided upon? I'd be interested in a shortie but I'd want both sides of the material to be even, for sure. Even if it ended up being shorter than it already is.
I can make a super shortie, with both ends meeting, but only one side would be selvedge. I'm not sure I can get two rivets on it once it's that small. I could make the shortie the same size only longer but once it's folded it would be the same length as it it now and then I could get both rivets in it...
If anyone want's one that like, send me an email at [email protected] and I'll make up a few....

I'll try to figure out a tri-fold. I also want to make a biker wallet too...

Here's what I'm working now... a few tweaks and I should be ready for making...
as to rivet setters I use the Osborne ones for my solid copper rivets. They have some that are square and some that are rounded on the edges. I was looking for just a domed setter too, and discovered that a nice big bolt from the hardware store is domed on the end... Just a couple of bucks and you can dome your rivets without making marks....

Made myself a prototype wallet I liked how it turned out so much I'm going to refine it just a tad but have it available on the website. I call it the "Palomino"
Horsehide with veg cow inside with the selvedge denim insert... I even have a custom copper plated laynard d-ring on it... What do you guys think?
and if you neg, please let me know what you don't like about.

I don't know what you do in those pants of yours... but they're going to have really amazing fades when you're done. You should get those holes fixed or you won't have a pair of pants by the year is up....

are you still making suspenders?
Not at the moment, I'm looking for a good supplier of the hardware. I have picked up some vintage hardware, but they would only be enough for a few pairs....

Gave my apron it's first wash as it was pretty dirty... machine washed, line dried. A little wrinkly but that denim is already showing some early fading...
I'll measure tonight to see how much it shrank.

I realize most of my updates involve cars....
Today it was spent at Burbank's Johnny Carson Park and the "Road Kings" car clubs, annual car show.
Awesome cars and trucks... what more is there to say. You can see a lot of these same ones every Friday night at Bobs Big Boy.
These two were cool as they were a matching pair of Rolls Royce's...
Then keeping the SoCal theme of cars, we stopped at In N Out for lunch.

Sewing machines for denim repairs?

thanks for joining. The 15-91 really for the money and what you can do with it is the absolute best. I have two for sale on my local craigslist as I'm keeping my 201 (almost the 15-91) but easier to thread on the bobbin and really don't need that many type machines.
I find them when I'm out and just can't pass them up. It's a disease.
