  1. Thinking of picking up either Sugarcane 66 OR Eternal 811 when I visit NYC and BiG next month. I've seen plenty of 811s, but not SC66. Anyone have these and care to share some fit pics? Is this a new cut from SC? If yes, is it new denim or are is it denim they've used before on other cuts? Looks like it could be the same as the 47... any insight would be appreciated...

Here are mine a couple of days after I bought them in the o/w state. They are a 31W. I'm wearing a 30 in the FC contest 0105C if you need another pair to compare fits and sizing. There is some fading in the 3 months that I wore them, but they fade SUPER slow. I will post some progress pictures if I get a chance.

  2. Great pictures and fit, tvshooter. The combs look promising and I love the dart-like fade on your wallet pocket side.

These seem to fade pretty fast!! This competition will get really interesting to follow..

Yeah I can tell from a weeks wear they are going to fade faster than I initially thought.

  3. The time is also a factor for me. If I had gotten the FC thread with the shipment of the jeans I would have sewn the arcs on at that time. Now that I'm wearing them I just don't feel like going back and doing it, plus I like them with just the tab.

BTW, Mr HaGa I think they are a 1955 or so repro. Definitely a 50s repro.

  4. emmitbrown, why did you add the tag?

I did it because I originally intended to put both the arcs and the tab on.

As far as history goes, they sent us the tab that Full Count jeans are supposed to come with, and the stencil for the arcs that they are supposed to come on the jeans. They are both illegal because of the Levi's lawsuit. i originally was going to put both on, because I think that's how the jeans should have been made. if you bought a pair of full counts from japan, you would get arcs and tabs. now I'm thinking a bit differently.

  5. i got my jeans on monday the 2nd, i have yet to take photos, i just wanted to get my official start date out there. number 55, size 31x 39....still not sure about the arcs, i feel strange adding the branding. its all about the fabric and the construction to me. what do you guys think? why add the tag and the arcs?

I put the tab on and thought the same thing about branding when it came to the arcs. I'm thinking that I won't put the arcs on at this point.

  6. yeah, I definitely noticed that when I saw your fit picture. Hope you don't lose anything.

Fingers crossed. I need a new wallet anyway, and a small one would be appropriate for these jeans. I can't seem to find anything that I really like though. I wish the redmoon kids wallet was just a little bigger. I would be perfect.

Thanks for all the comment and rep guys.

  7. Whats up with the LVC t-shirts? Has anyone heard if they would be available in the US amidst all this searching whether LVC will be in US stores?

I was really looking forward to checking out those 50's tees in person.

  8. I'm wearing mine today. I can not believe how much they shrank, and I love the fit. Pretty much exactly what I wanted. They feel exactly the same as my 66s fit wise, except not as slim past the knee, which is ok with me. They felt fairly stiff this morning after an all night dry, but not stiff enough to stand up on their own. Right now the denim feels like they are going to fade way faster than my 66s, but not as fast as sammys. I'm pretty excited for these, and I'm glad I waited for the longer inseam. Post soak fit pics to come later today.........

I have 0 bleeding at this point, except what they bled inside my washer.

I have to say that my favorite part of these jeans so far is the slim selvage line. It is about .5", which I think is perfect. That was my favorite part about my Okis, and I'm glad that FC did it that way as well.

The only real thing that I'm kinda bummed about is how fast the Lot # and size stamps wore off the patch. They are all but gone, but I guess that was going to happen eventually. The '2009' in Kanji seems to be holding up way better than the lot and size numbers. It will be interesting to see how that handles a belt rubbing against it constantly.

  9. So I put the tab on, and I am about to throw them in the washer. I asked BIG to include the material that they cut off while hemming. Luckily the inside thread on the original cuff had the redish thread that is the proper color for sewing the tab back on. So I cut the outside hem threads, leaving the inside redish thread usable to sew the tab on.

  10. Here is a front and back fit picture. They seem HUGE right now. They fit perfect in the waist, and I hope they shrink a ton. BIG forgot to include the extra thread to stitch the arcuates, but they are sending some out today (thanks to Johnny). So I'm going to wait to sew them on. Johnny advised me to wait, since the stiff denim would be easier to put the template on, but I can't wait at this point. I need to soak them and check out the fit. I'll check it out with just the tab...maybe that's good enough.

  11. so gordon has a specific thread for FC? i know the yellow he sends me matches up damn-near perfect with FCs yellow(like on the inseam). let me look again..........yeah, color is spot-on;)

I'm assuming he is including the thread that he uses to hem them. I asked him if he hems them with the same FC yellow in 100% cotton. He said yes, and that he would include some extra for me to sew the arcs with. Originally I asked him to point me to a site that I could buy the thread, cause I wouldn't mind a bunch for repairs. But, Gordon was nice enough to offer some extra thread for no charge.

  12. it really shouldnt make much difference. think about it...if you buy a pair of raw unsanf jeans straight from nippon, the arcs were already there. once soaked, the arcs/tab dont shift or anything. bach pockets dont shrink that much

True...I probably will stitch first. That way I can sew everything on, throw them in the washer, and hang them up. Then I can wear them tomorrow with everything complete.

I really hope Gordon remembered to put that FC thread in with my package.
