It was merged because we don't want to encourage a bunch of small threads in appreciation of single sports teams - be they NBA, NFL, NHL or what have you. It is better to group by league or sport so that they have a slightly more broad audience and hopefully will encourage greater conversation. As it is, there is limited interest in college sports around here as can be seen in the amount of posts on the topic.

Nice to see the jeans still moving about the world. Glad it was Old Trafford - don't think I could have taken seeing them at Anfield.

tell us more about this arc'teryx factory sale?
cheers!
It happens a couple of times a year out of their North Vancouver offices. Last one was a couple of weeks ago. They have general Arcteryx gear but also clear out Veilance and some limited LEAF as well.

Hey Zeen,
I was poking about on eMusic and happened upon this. It is strangely reminiscent of your work.

I don't think that they are marketing towards professional runners - but avid runners, yes. I run on average three times a week and wash the clothes after each run and they have held up just fine.
And by functionality I am referring to things like pockets for keys, banking cards, money, etc which for some reason are often left out of running wear. I have had Nike shirts/shorts/tights without a single usable pocket for carrying any of these items.

i think the basics are great but not so sure about the jackets are worth it compared to other brands with perhaps better matrials and such.So Gira is not for high performance sports. only light running.
There is no problem with the materials - they are on par and better than other brands. You need to consider what conditions you are likely to run in and buy accordingly. I have pieces from each of the collections which can cover me for running in any weather year round (in various combinations) and I haven't had any problems.
The main difference between Gira and other brands (and what you are paying for) is the design. You have a popular designer (who happens to also be a runner) putting his creative abilities to making the kind of clothes that he as a runner wants to wear - taking into consideration functionality and also aesthetics - something often lacking in general runner wear. Whether you consider those things worth it is your own call.

In his defence, he has no fat.
I have been running in three layers lately and still been cold when setting out.
I was going to pass this season but oddly enough I couldn't sleep Friday night and happened to be awake at 3am when SNS opened the doors and couldn't resist. DAMN YOU JUN.

Tomorrow is a good day! Finally a new issue of Moon Knight! and Orc Stain! Woot!
I just read through the first 7 issues back to back - great stuff. Next time I need to ban someone I am going to declare a poxa gronka on them.
I used to read Moon Knight back in the day when Bill Sienkiewicz was given the space to do things no one else had done in a superhero comic - somewhat like Frank Miller did on his runs with Daredevil. Maldeev's art reminds me of ol Bill - a nice throwback.
I also have been reading the relaunched Prophet. I am not really taken with it yet but am going to stick with it and see where it goes.
Oh and I got SVK - the crazy Ellis book that comes with the UV flash card so you can see the characters' thoughts which are printed with invisible inks. Interesting stuff.
Oh oh and Nonplayer is awesome stuff.

Streak over. The game lived up to the hype.
Congratulations to the Wings for a record-setting run.

I once saw andre the giant wrestle 10 midgets (for that is what they called little people back then). He sat on half of them in the corner and that was pretty much it.

I used to go to see live wrestling in the old Stampede Wrestling days. Dynamite Kid was amazing in his day. So sad how he ended up.

Riff - I would like to see more of the shots you took for the dance company.
zeen - amazing spiders. sigh, now I need a macro.
I have had a number of people contact me about our little guy. I really appreciate the care and concern. He is home now and is returning to his regular smiley self. Some have asked that I post some more of the 1000+ shots I took during this time so I will try and group them into related shots and post some periodically.
first group - tubes and wires.

stuff I'm liking lately so this shit doesn't turn into a font request thread
Humbly apologize - meant to rep you for this but big fingers on small screen hit the wrong button. It would be much nicer if more ppl would post interesting new fonts instead of constantly asking to illegally share fonts.
