  1. Clean Mercier.

    What stem is that?

thanks. its a modolo something. either 10 or 20 depending on steel or aluminum. i hear reports of "catastrophic failure" but a black stem for 20? i'll risk it

your front wheel's crazy by the way

What do you fixies feel about clipless pedals, toe clips or straps?

    clipless if you're super serious

clips/straps if you'll be off your bike for any period of time

i went clipless for a few months and the feel and control are amazing, but i just got tired of changing my shoes all the time.

  2. sorry to bump this thread from months back, but i tried them on today and they are really heavy, i'm considering one or the other as a 'first serious hoodie'. but i still need to shop around/decide if i really want to drop a bill and a half on a hoodie

  3. one place i can confidently say, that you don't really want to work, is a thrift store like the salvation army. i personally hate it more than any job i've had, many of which dealt with running sound/lights for moronic dance program coordinators and play directors hahaha. those also did pay double and then some compared to what i make now though.. haha.

the only perk to the job is the stuff i bring home. you're not supposed to take stuff but almost everyone does it and they suffer no real loss considering everything they sell is donated. you get to see everything before its put on the floor which is nice too, brand new clothes comes in here and there, and a lot of stuff that looks it. aside from that though, there are no perks at all. i have bad allergies, so the mold and dust makes it hard to go without sneezing/coughing/breathing well, all day. the customers are either senile, don't speak english, or are just plain rude, which gets old very fast. they pay sucks too. i honestly don't know why im still there, probably cause i dont have to work friday/saturday night and i get to bring home clothes almost everyday hahaha.

    +1

i worked at goodwill as soon as i moved to portland. fucking awful. we have to wait 3 days before we buy anything from the floor, strictly enforced, cameras everywhere, tons of cross-position work, constantly short staffed. dust/allergy problems, awful customers

never ever ever work at a Goodwill, atleast not in Portland/Vancouver WA

  4. imo, i wouldn't bother with them. if you have the funds, get something you're comfortable with wearing (i assume that'd be something slim and fitted). i always wear relatively slim jeans, and the baggiest i could go with are my '47 501's (people here find those to be slim too).

yeah its not that i'm UNcomfortable with these, its just new. all my other jeans are slim to snug, so this coule be a welcome change. i think i'm going to keep them. $40 for my first pair of "nice" jeans isnt too bad i suppose.

  5. I actually had a question about fit.

Gap Gough's, japanese made, african cotton. they're a little longer/baggier than i'm used to. listed as 30x30 but very long. i dont think it looks bad, i'm just not sure it looks good. tags obviously still attached. $40 (employee discounts)

good enough keep and attempt a different look? the last pair i bought were skinny girl jeans, so this is somewhat of a departure

  6. gap gives you 50%, 8/hour (7.50 is min.wage in oregon), and so far i'm getting 50-60 hours my first week. they're only hiring part time

oh and you get 30% at banana republic and 20% at old navy too
