yeah aa shrinks depending on how you wash/dry them. i accidently ran the dryer on high and for longer than necessary and now my stuff is like half a size smaller. oh well. still fits tho.

yeah, trying them on first is a good idea. if the cut is off by half an inch it looks sooo different (for me at least)

i don't think they make a 30 length. the slim jims are just a straight tube leg right? then it shouldn't matter if you alter it since it doesn't affect the fit.
