  1. this is just sad. this just shows how ignorant the average consumer is. its dumb, because a person who knows nothing about selvege wont care, and ANYONE who knows selvage will either laugh until convulsions, or vomit. this shit is epicac for denimheads. ive actually seen an ad in XXL magazine for "Premium Ring-Spun" denim, with a fake selvege that had a "red-line", but the twill/serge line was the opposite rise direction from the actuall sample of cloth that it was obviously sewn onto after milling. dont forget....bush is still president. but these are even worse, because of the wack-ass orange stitching that tells the tale. i call it"SNITCH-STITCHING", cause it tells on itself. ignorance must be bliss, cause this makes my tummy hurt.

just fyi... a lot of slevages have a different weave structure than the rest of the cloth. A lot are either plain weave or the opposite twill of the main fabric.

  2. ive decided to go for my first pair of visvims....but having a bit of trouble getting them.

Can anyone help get me that size, that model, that material, but in BLACK??? E-mailed plainflour but to no avail....HELP!

they are called ancestors. they aren't that hard to find and retail around $340. Definiteley size down in them. They run about about 3/4 of a size big. They are wonderful shoes though. You'll love them if you can find them.

  3. Thanks guys. I really love them. I'm debating on whether or not I should soak them first since they're waxed pretty stiff.

I heard that leaving the wax in can cause the denim to weaken and start to have pre-mature holes. The plus side is that you get faster fade results, etc. I'm wearing them now but I think I'm gonna soak them tonight just to be safe.

Oh yeah - these are sanforized so I won't be soaking for shrinkage, just to get rid of some of the wax.

mine loosened up a lot after i soaked them. Lots more comfortable. Mine wear really painful at first. I did size down a little but now they fit perfect.

  4. i've seen samples of faded nando x nando denim and they are amazingly contrasty. this is because the core of the yarns are white. here's one sample from their website:

my guess is that there's a good chance these new pbjs will be similar to these, except much slubbier.

you evil chicken!!! i was resisting buying until you posted this
