I really need some new black socks. Most of them seem to end up in my girlfriend's drawer and then the laundry basket.

I never wear slips with socks myself, but I never wear my slips with full length jeans or trousers either.

I had all my tees folded and stacked neatly on a shelf in my closet. I always left the closet door open and after a while I started to notice that the sun was shining through my windows into the closet and it bleached stripes in a bunch of my colored tees, like, right on the fold. That really sucked.

So, whatever you do, don't let your gear sit in the sun for extended periodsd of time.

Not much chance of that happening in the UK. And I'm a vampire, so any periods of excessive sun result in me closing the curtains.

When I said up north, I meant London. Any further than that is insanity for me. AFAIK the only outlets are in London, but there's a whole bunch to choose from.

So I'm headed up north to catch the long awaited return of My Vitriol, so I figured I may as well do some shopping and hit up a Uniqlo outlet. Trouble is, I have no idea which one to pay a visit to. Any recommendations?

Not true. Lycra just sags after a few wear until you wash it again. Fine on my girlfriend's washed denim, not so good on raw denim that you want to wear for 6 months solid.

I can't stand that, I think it's aversion therapy from my girlfriend's insistence on putting up an old Incubus poster in our room... 3 of 5 members are wearing black chucks, and 2 of them have black laces. Kinda sad.

I picked up my nickname on account of the stupid way I spell my name though... my mate decided it would be funny to refer to her as 'the twins' ie "here comes Double D and the twins..."

'Just before touching the ground' is a bit of a false way to measure your inseam, being as that's for bootlegs, wheras to stack you need straights or tapers which sit on your kicks. Depending on how tall you are and how much stacking you want you can whack on up to 6 inches extra... in the pic above CMF is 6' 2" and wearing a 39" inseam, so if you wanted that look I'd add/remove an inch of inseam per two inches of your height relative to CMF, if that makes sense (say you're 5' 10" and wanted that massive stacking you'd want a 37" inseam - also note that CMFs jeans are tapers as far as I can tell, rather than straights, which might fall off the back of your kicks with such a big inseam).

Of course, if you're as skinny as me then the hem of straight legs is smaller... 19cm is a taper for most people, but on my 501s at 25" it's a standard straight leg.
