  1. Just got my 30 in blacks from Parachutes (who picked them up at the PBJ store in Tokyo), based on the measurements, I think they're one wash:

    waist: 15" laid flat

    front rise: 9.5"

    back rise: 13"

    inseam: 33.5"

    leg opening: 7.5"

Do you guys think it's necessary to soak these? Based on what I've read they seem to be shrunk already, so I dunno, lemme know what you think.

On to the pics (sorry for the shitty lighting, I need to invest in a full length mirror in a well-lit area of the house)...

Pics of fit (please note, the lighting in my bathroom sucks so I adjusted the contrast/brightness to show how they fit, not how the colour looks):

    Pics of detail/slub:

(mine still have the blue pocket tab!)

(black rivets and buttons, although the paint is already thinning and wearing away, which again proves to me that these are one wash)

I just realized I didn't take a selvedge pic, oh well.

Just for people's reference, I'm 5'11" and ~155lbs, physically fit (heavy into capoeira) and these DO fit tight around the thighs. They're not constricting by any means though, and I can tell they will stretch perfectly.

I wear a 30 in nudie slim jims, and got these in a size 30, and the fit is perfect so far.

    Hope this helps somebody somehow.

  2. I've seen a few oversized hoodies posted in the WAYWT thread, and I really dig them, especially because of their versatility. I find they work well in tandem with pieces that wouldn't usually work well in tandem with a hoodie.

Are there any specific brands that have decent oversized hoods out this season, or any that are coming up that you guys are aware of?

  3. HEWSINATOR' date=' I just kinda stumbled accross this thread...and needed to share a story about High Grade Clothing in Edmonton.

High Grade cracks me up. I was in there about 6 months ago, lookin' at what they had for raw denim. This sales guy comes up to me to 'educate' me on raw denim. He goes into this rant about how the trick to wearing raw jeans is to wear off the resin (he was talking about nudies) that is painted on them. I'm like "heh??" He continues "ya, Nudie paints all their jeans with resin, wear them for like 1 or 2 months without a wash and it wears off."

He proceeded to point at my jeans (2 year old Nudies washed twice) and tell me that they used to carry that wash before. I pointed at the dry selvage on the table "you still do".[/quote']

OMG, glorious! way to stick it to him!

  4. all i can say is....LOOSE LEAF!

find your local loose leaf spot, every city has at least one gem, always cheaper, and always better than any "gourmet" packaged tea you'll ever find ANYWHERE

my local spot "special teas" imports their tea straight from africa, china, japan...wherever the tea's origins are

they have organic honeybush roiboos straight from africa, and amazing organic sencha and bancha teas from china and japan

    current favourites:

japan sencha 40 - organic green tea, medium strength of flavour, so yummy

roiboos apple pie - organic roiboos, apple pieces, cinnamon, cloves

marakesh mint - a blend of chinese gunpowder tea, and some peppermint and natural flavours

brazil yerba mate (hazelnut) - a dark dark tea from brazil (obviously), its caffeine content rivals that of coffee, and it has a dark, nearly burnt aroma similar to coffee as well

  5. curiouscharles, you made me want to get a pair of slim jim dry japans. do you think i need to size down?

hrm, well you COULD sizes down 1 size if you want them to remain slim throughout their lifetime

mine have stretched out from 30 to about 33 in the waist, and hence they sit lower than they used to

size down if you want them SLIM, stay true to size otherwise

  6. pretty boring today.

    green uniqlo

    hm chain

    cheers!

did you soak your pbj's before wearing them kix? just asking cause i wanna cuff mine, and from what i've read they seem like they'd be too short to cuff after a hot soak, lemme know (love those shoes by the way, you kill it on a regular basis)
