True, however these were sanforized

I wear my clothes pretty much how you see in that pic, I wouldnt say they are oversized or tight, somewhere in the middle... In all honesty, I would have liked them to be slimmer (the leg opening at the bottom is 23 CM!)... I prefer something like 19cm or 20cm or so.. Maybe I should ahve gone for some Diors, I heard they are good for small slim dudes.. oh well, I think in a couple weeks these will be looking alot better
Ninjapie, as far as I know, they dont have anything smaller than 28.. they fit HIGH on the waist, as you can see in the first page... that is why a 32 works in length for me in this case, when generally I'm a 30 inseam. The jeans came as 30x37, shrunk down to probably 28x36, got them hemmed to 32... Hope that helps. I wouldnt recommend these jeans unless you have big legs, they seem to be a bigger 'regular fit' than most... I was surprised for a Japanese company to fit so large

Anyways, just for kicks I decided to take some pics with my fit for today wearing the jeans... honestly, its not THAT terrible.. Ive seen jeans that fit way worse on people... I can get away with it.. I think the puffiness has to do with how stiff they are (extremely).. this morning they were lilke a board, I could stand them up after soaking.
After all, I wont be walking around topless in my jeans anyways.. if pics dont load tiny pic is acting up again

I got my friend in Japan to get me a pair.. ordering from the Jet site doesn't really work.. I got them hemmed to 32 an hour ago, they are much better now. I think Ill wear them.. with a regular outfit they seem to look fine

Thanks for the opinions guys.. thats what happens I guess when you buy a pair of jeans that nobody else has and you can't try them on.. oh well.. Im still gonna keep em... Im 20 years old, pretty small dude, 5'6 120 lbs.. I do see what you guys mean by the ballooning though.. but what can I do? not much, after all its just jeans, I can deal with it.. going to the mall to get them hemmed now

Someday down the road Ill be glad I stuck with the 28, cause Ill be able to wear them later when I gain some weight around my waist.. Not to mention 28 is the smallest size there was, so I got em anyways.

Thanks, seenmy... I think Im leaning towards the 32 length now.. big by superfuture standards is fine by me
Also, sam113, you said they are going to fall off, but in reality I can't take them off without undoing the top 2 buttons.. I dunno if its the fit or its just shape of my waist, but they won't fall off

Thats OK, I like them, I dont like a slim fitting jean.. they didnt shrink as much as I expected though.. Ill just be using a belt, theres only 1 inch difference between my waist and the jeans

Hey guys, so my jeans finally dried and are ready to be hemmed.. so now I face a dilemma. I originally had intented to hem them to a 32 inch inseam, but now Im not so sure... Here are the pics.. Let me know what you think would look the best. Note, the one with the cuff would be the length if it were hemmed to a 32 inch inseam, the uncuffed leg is at 37 inch inseam... I cant decide on whether I like the stacking or the clean straight look.. I think Im leaning towards somwhere in the middle though, like 34? It seems crazy though, cause in reality I am a 30 inseam (32 working seems good though since these fit high on the waist). Let me know your opinions. Pics:

Damn, thats almost retail in Japan.. I got a pair when I was there and picked em up for 17640 at hinoya.. my fav jeans the color of the Edo Ai is amazing.. I wish it had 2 pockets though but oh well..
coldrice, they are part of last seasons I think SC40501 1 wash, Edo Ai... like 10% natural indigo or something, but they are still making them now but without the logo on the back, they are pretty plain without it

Thanks rirawin, thats exactly what I said I would do just above your post.. Seems to be the best option.. thanks

Just got my CDP-555 today.. I know I dont have any after pics, but Ill post the before, adn come back periodically with updates... starting from today.. I got them 28x35 (tag states they will shrink to this size), they were more like 30x37..
Put in in warm water (warm being what my washing machine considers warm) for 1.5 hours (water was still warm after I took them out). Pots were to put some weight on it to soak all the denim (parts of it were coming above the surface). Water was slightly tinted blue when I took it out
Now, hanging to dry outside overnight I guess.. its very cold outside, but should be OK... seem to have shrunk a bit, looks like the leather patch got a little wrinkly so it must have shrunk. Can't tell if the color changed at all, but I dont think so... Seems to be dripping alot of indigo though onto the floor.. either way, so far so good.. I found a perfect little spot to hang them
Sorry if you guys aren't interested in this, this is very exciting for me thats all...

Nice fit

^ thanks, that helped alot... I always wondered, cause alot of ppl always say that after a soak they wear them while damp but not dripping
Anyways, I was planning on hemming them to a 32 when Im actually a 30 inseam, so to have about 2 inches of stacking, any more than that and Ill look too short I think
Just turn them up, man.Have a 6 inch cuff? Id like to see how funny this would look, I would have taken a pic but they are wet now

Do people recommend wearing the jeans til dry after they are soaked, even if the length is like 6 inches too long? The jeans Im soaking right now are like a 37 inseam when I only need like 30-31. Wouldnt that make all the creases youre trying to set in in the wrong area (due to all the bunching all up my leg etc.?) Let me know, I have to decide what to do within the next couple hours
Or would I just be better off hanging till dry and not wearing them until they are dry and hemmed? Thanks

They seem really nice... they are soaking right now in warm water (warm being what my washing machine considers warm)... gonna soak em for 1.5 hours... they are SO long, the inseam was like 37 inches (even though it says 35 - I guess its supposed to shrink down, even though they are sanforized)... anways, they seem to fit nice other than the super extra length (I'm only a 30 inseam)... Im gonna get them hemmed after they are done drying

OK, decided to take a pic now that I got the GW's. I had another pair of washed denim from Express but I couldn't find it... my collection is very small, consisting of the following jeans, from left to right:
Sugarcane Edo Ai SC40501
Dry Bones CDP-555
Levi's 501xx STF
Puma Evisu Worn Out
I was amazed at the color difference in the STF and the Jap made Dry Bones (being my first pair of raw indigo Jap denim)... the STF are pathetic! The CDP-555 are also VERY VERY stiff, whereas the STF is supple

Finally, the waiting was torture... CDP-555

Im sure I read somewhere that to achieve vertical fading you shouldnt wash them inside out.. can anyone confirm? what about for the first wash?

Um, they actually didnt answer my email I sent about a month ago for the $200, and Im glad.. Im not sure what model I would get if I ordered from the guitar wolf website.. seems like its not the same model that was released a while back (CDP-555), but rather CUP-302 according to the label they show at the top of the page
Anyways, this might help, thanks to frideswide from a while back before I ordered
"The denim is sanforized so the raw jeans should only shrink about 1" in the waist (I have not washed mine yet...). They tend to run ever-so-slightly large, so you might want to go down 1" from your 'normal' size. Colour is a nice deep "red-cast" blue (i.e. slightly purplish-blue, as opposed to "green-cast" denim, which is more turquoise). They seem well-dipped since they are taking a long time to wear in."
Thats not that great news for me, cause Im a 26 waist and all they had was 28 from where I ordered from, I guess ill just warm soak or something and hopefully they fit

Ill have my pair by the end of the week, if not, by Monday. Ill post some pics
They are just regular straight fit, sanforized. Im not sure how dry bones fade as Ive never heard anything about this.. I had to get em cause of the pockets from the day I saw em. frideswide has a pair but he rarely posts on here
