  1. Doc Martens 10-eyelet cherry boot / Size 45 - US11 / Price: $50.00

I bought these off the main Doc Martens website in November. Right after I received them, I got a pair of Red Wings, and I'm just not interested in wearing them. I've worn them out about 4 times, and done a lot of the painful "break-in" work. They're in execellent shape and waterproofed with mink oil. They look great in person and show barely any wear - except for a softening of the leather which your feet will be grateful for. They are made in China - as all Docs have been for the past few years.

  2. MHI Black Sweatshirt / Size M / Price: $50.00

Armpit to armpit: 23" / Shoulder to sleeve: 23" / Rear neck to bottom: 28"

I LOVED the print on this. So I bought it for about $90 in Vienna, without ever considering that I don't like sweatshirts. The print is a tonal dark grey take on "Straight Outta Compton." The flash picks it up well, but it's really cool and subtle in real life. It's a pretty generous and boxy cut. On the bottom left is a print that says "ELEMENTAL MASTERY EXPLICIT CONCEPTS." The back is blank. It is absoultely new, I never even wore it once.

  3. Japanese Reversible Black to Cream Silk Bomber / Size M / Price: $100.00

Armpit to armpit: 23" / Shoulder to sleeve: 27" / Rear neck to bottom: 26"

I love this jacket, but I never really get a chance to wear it. I bought it for $250 in Osaka three years ago. It's the classic slim-fit silk bomber jacket, and it's fully reversible. On the dark side front, it has embroidered dragons and the logo "BS Crawlers." The rear has a samurai riding on a dragon. On the light side it has two screenprinted cranes on the front and a big screenprinted crane on the rear. Also, the light side has a tonal embroidered silk pattern woven into the fabric - which is why the prints look a little irregular in the photos. They look perfect in person. I've worn this quite a few times, but it's in good shape without any rips, or tears. There are a few dark spots on the cotton ribbing from normal wear.

  4. Hi there,

I've got a few items for sale below. The prices include shipping to any address in the USA. For International customers, I can quote you a rate - but it will be about $10 more for Canada or Europe and $25 more for Asia. I'll ship from NYC via Priority Mail.

Prices are fixed unless you want to buy a few things together. Please hold the lowball offers.

JUICY COUTURE JACKET IS SOLD. EVERYTHING ELSE STILL AVAILABLE

Juicy Couture Black Leather Hoodie / Size M / Price: $200.00

Armpit to armpit: 20" / Shoulder to sleeve: 28" / Rear neck to bottom: 26"

This was a gift from my girlfriend, but it's just too small for me. It's a super-slim leather hoodie with absolutely no external branding (thank god). The hood is double faced leather, and it's lined in quilted cotton with a crazy rocabilly skull print. It has a heavy-gauge zipper down the front and two zippered hand pockets. Ribbed wool sleeve cuffs and bottom cuff. It's in absolutely perfect condition - I only wore it once before I finally admitted that I can't breathe properly in it. The original retail was $800.00 at Neiman's.

  5. I like reggaeton. It's obnoxious, it's loud, and it's fun to dance to. And girls like it. Sure, there's a bunch of derivative, boring shit out there - but that goes for any genre of music.

I mean, how much horrible rock, r&B, and hip-hop are we subjected to on a daily basis. All of Beyonce's songs might not be based off of "Dem Bow," but fuck me if they don't bore me to tears. The same goes for most pop-punk, emo, new rock, and hip-hop.

It seems to me like the majority of Latin music is very beat driven and usually keeps the same speed. It's designed to make you dance, and keep it easy for you. And with good reason - Latina girls know how to dance! I'm okay with anything that inspires that. I don't have any music training - this is just what I hear.

And when you compare Reggaeton against the sheer tedium of (not all, but most) house & electronic music, then it's like sunshine on a rainy day.

  6. I dig the lookbook's style - it looks like they shot the whole thing on Polaroid pack film. It's tough to get excited about the actual pieces through. On the surface, it does look like many of the clothes that H&M or Club Monaco puts out. I know that NDG uses much better materials and construction, but I wish that they would step out more with their designs - or significantly lower their prices. I just can't pay that kind of money for things that look this generic.

  7. I busted Evisu's chops for the killing off of my listing.

Does Sweden still make Evil Jeans?

Funny, I had the same thing happened. A year ago, I sold an Evisu shirt on Ebay and had them kick it off twice. The thing was 100% authentic, and I had to exchange a half-dozen e-mails to finally get it accepted.

The crazy shit is, nearly every Evisu jean on Ebay at any given moment is fake. How does all of this escape their notice?

  8. This happened to my Nudie Ralf's and I hated it. I like to wear my jeans cuffed, and I had to get those lines patched after they ripped through.

After that, I decided that I wanted my jeans to stay intact more than I wanted them faded out. So I've started washing them every few weeks, and unfolding the cuffs when I'm not wearing them. That definitely solved the problem - but there ain't much in the way of whiskering or honeycombs going on.

If you want to keep the jeans raw and fade them out, then I think that (1) uncuffing them when unworn, (2) wetting and ironing out those creases every now and then, and (3) cuffing in different spots will go a long way.

  9. You also might want to consider penis reduction surgery.

    willard.jpg

Or have your girlfriend get "one of those vagina enlargements"

Seriously though, I've dealt with this problem on most of my jeans. I ride a bicycle every day, and it's only a matter of time before the seat wears through the fabric. I did notice that it happened a hell of a lot faster with my raw Ralf's.

It's a pretty easy and inexpensive fix for a tailor. Just ask them to use a strong piece of denim for the patch, and make sure that it covers an area much wider then the initial wear. My patches go for about 2.5 inches on either side.

Also, you'll probably want to wash the jeans after you get them patched - otherwise you'll have one stiff patch rubbing against your junk. And that ain't nice.

  10. I would go with an AF Nikon, as you could can use some of their excellent manual focus lenses on it too.

The N80 or N90 are both affordable and good choices. Check out Ebay or Keh.com. They've got full manual controls too - so you can shut off the AF and easily learn with them.

  11. As much as I'd love to respect their opinion, it really doesn't reflect the views of the company. They still made money, just not as much as they might have hoped to. Hell, I remember getting clothing at Abercrombie (new items, mind you) that came with clearance pricing, because they knew it wouldn't sell at "normal" price. So, the few people that bought it at the "normal" price actually boosted the numbers. Is this indicative of what happened with the Gap selvege? No, of course not. But if I know anything about the corporate retail world, the prices would not fall through the roof as drastically as these did unless they planned on selling them at a much lower price point. Hence, the term "flop" is a misnomer by your colleagues.

As a former retail guy myself, I've got to point out two errors in this analysis:

    1. It's true that Gap's actual production cost is a lot lower than their retail levels. So in respect to raw materials, they turned a profit. However, pulling out this special edition item surely took extra effort from the design and sourcing team - which has to be caluclated. The people sewing the garments might be cheap, but the marketing and brand management people who determine the assortment aren't. While you're totally right about planned markdown items, those are usually holiday basics - like cheap cashmere or merino sweaters - which have mass appeal and can sell in huge numbers.

    2. Any large retailer has to consider the "opportunity cost" of putting something onto the floor. This is especially crucial for someone like the Gap - which often has limited space in their individual stores. If they create a display for a lukewarm item like the selvedge jeans, then they take space and attention away from something that could be selling better - like some boring-ass barn jacket or v-neck sweater. This is a real loss for them.

So, it's very possible that these jeans - even if they don't lose money on production - can still be a major flop. One of about 9 million that the Gap makes every season.

Seriously, what do the executives who work there think when another report about the runaway success of American Apparel comes out. All of the Gap's money and talent can't even stand in the shadow of a pseudo-pedophile Terry Richardson-wanna be who makes terrible t-shirts and "dazzle leggings." That guy's doing something right.

  12. 3. 10 Deep "Problem Solvers Hoodie" Medium - $75.00

Got this from turntablelab.com last year and possibly wore it three times. It's pretty loose fitting, and just not my style. The detail and craftsmanship is amazing. All of the text is embroidered into the fabric. The front says "The Tenth Division NYC" on the right and has the 10 Deep logo on the left. The rear is a huge set of brass knuckes with a bunch of text around it. There's a logo tag on the lower left and on the hood. The front zipper is 2-way. It measures 23.5 from pit to pit, 27" from shoulder to cuff, and 28" from the neck to the bottom. The condition is like new, with no holes, rips, tears, or stains.

    4. Fred Perry Checker Polo, Sz 38 - $30.00

I bought this about a year and a half ago, and it's an awesome shirt. It's made in Macau, and was part of a whole checkerboard jacket and polo collection. It will match perfectly with your Vans slip-ons. The cut is slim, and it measures 19.5" from pit to pit, 8" from shoulder to cuff, and 27" from the neck to the bottom. It's been washed and worn quite a few times, but the fabric is vivid with little fading, and there are no holes, rips, tears, or stains.

  13. Hi everyone,

Check it out - I've got a bunch of items up for sale. The prices all include insured Priority Mail shipping within the USA. If you live abroad, then PM me what item you want, and I can quote you a shipping price. Paypal is preferred, but I can also take a money order or bank check from USA customers. I've got an Ebay account with over 100 feedback points, so no worries - I'll ship out your item properly and fast. Please no lowball offers - the prices are all fixed unless you're willing to buy several items together. I'll leave everything up here for a week, and then toss whatever hasn't sold onto Ebay. All sales are final. Thanks for looking!

    1. Juicy Couture Bomber Jacket Medium - $150.00

I picked this up at Tokyo 7 (a second-hand resale store in NYC) about two weeks ago. Since then, I've gotten attached to the idea of a Burton AK jacket for my winter coat, so I'm selling this one to get the cash back. The price is $150 - which is exactly what I paid for it. It's in perfect shape, and has absolutely no stains, rips, tears, or anything like that. It doesn't even look like it's ever been worn - and I haven't worn it myself yet. They're selling a similar item at Neiman Narcus:

    http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2903227/0~2376777~2374612~6002682~6002683?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6002683&P=1

The jacket is filled with down, has a faux-fur and velvet lined hood, and is slimmer then the Spiewak/Alpha jackets of the same pattern. It says "Lions MC" on the right sleeve and "English Ghetto Rockers" on the chest. The inside has a crazy screenprint which says "Academy of Insolence." It measures 23" from pit to pit, about 26" from shoulder to sleeve, and 25" from the neck to the bottom. The wrist cuffs are frayed and worn - but that's how it's supposed to be. This jacket is warm as hell, and is ready for serious work this winter.

    2. Dior Homme Raw Jeans Sz. 33 - $175.00

I bought these jeans at Dior Homme in NYC back in May. Since then, I've probably worn them about a dozen times and washed them once (cold wash, Dr. Bronners soap, hang dry). My problem is that I've lost about 15lb since I bought them, and they're just too big on me. The tag size is 33, but the waist actually measures 34", and the inseam is 36.5". These are made in Italy, not Japan. The wash probably set the size, so I wouldn't expect them to shrink or expand very much from this size. Almost no indigo was lost, and the jeans still look dark and raw. The condition is like new, with no holes, rips, tears, or stains. They're soft - but that's pretty much how they felt when I bought them. If you want to wear them for 6 months without washing, then I'm positive that you can get the same crazy fading as if they were never washed at all. These are the straight-leg pattern, not the slim fitted ones.
