  1. good idea for a thread...but most of you all dress the same (that tight indie style) and dont really get away from the look...i cant imagine most styles changing over the years.

I was going thru some clothes to give away and alot of my old jeans were big as hell. I had a pair of size 42 jeans in my closet i used to wear 5yrs ago. Wish I took pics of how ive been dressing all these years, cuz it has changed a bit

  2. o sorry dude, sorry i wear shit that my mom gets me for my birthday, i cant even legally drive yet and im not gonna waste my money to get a bus downtown and buy really expensive jeans, the only reason i got my LRG stuff is cause the store was by the tattoo place i went too. and shit it was just a question, no need to be a ass and say the shit i get isnt real. its what i like.
no hate, but then what made you come on this board if you can only get whats in your area?
  3. I dont know anything about nice shoes, so I came here for help. I want something I can dress down (w/ a pair of jeans) or dress up a little. I have no idea where to look or what designers to check out....any help?

  4. I'm basically paranoid about getting these jeans wet in general.

Time to overcome my fear. in the bath I go. How long do I sit in the bath with my jeans on for maximum shrinkage?

just getting wet? what do you do when you get caught in the rain? Dont you want your jeans to reflect your life? Is your life really avoiding water and not cleaning them? I wouldnt really love the wear in my jeans if it was created in a artificial fashion (ie treating the jeans like they are something other than jeans)

  5. Kind of a hypocritical response considering your on a forum specifically geared towards denim (which would include denim care).

im not knocking people who go all out for their clothes, it just goes against my personal style. I like function & style, not just style.

but im on the site to learn about different brands, styles, and to talk about clothes w/ others

  6. actually i about 2 weeks ago i dumped the jeans into the spin cycle in my washing machine with regular detergent and they (of course) lost the dry sheen, but they haven't lost alot of colour either.
I just threw my jeans in the washing machine for there first wash. I was going to soak them and do all that other special stuff, but at the end of the day they are just jeans. Im not the type of guy to baby my stuff, ill leave that for the pretty boys
  7. I bought a slvr so that I wouldnt have a huge uncomfortable bulge in my front pocket...works like a charm

the people who put their phones in their back pocket...your phones hold up well w/ you sitting on it all the time?

  8. anyone ever been in a good one?

long story short, met a girl who goes to school in DC, but is from NYC. I go to school in NYC but am from Connecticut.

been there, done that. They dont work, especially when your still in school. Trust me man. Your young, dont get too serious

  9. Philladelphia - Jawn (A person, place or thing) ie-"Them jawns are tight" meaning those shoes are nice

Chicago - Joe (Man, dude) ie-"Man joe, I just hit a sweet lick over there on madison. Just got 2 pair of MJ 4's for $70 a pair" meaning Hey man, I just got a great deal on Madison street. I just purchased two pairs of Air Jordan 4 sneakers from a man on the street for $70

  10. The thing is, a lot of people are narrow-minded and/or misunderstand the definition and purpose of a longboard. Longboards are not defined by its actual length, but rather its wheelbase. Compared to a regular skateboard, a longboard's trucks sit further away from each other on the deck, giving the board more stability and allowing the rider to "bomb" a hill faster and more safely than a skateboard can. It's not to say that that's the only thing a longboard can do though. There are many applications for them, which is why decks will vary in length and construction.

So to answer your question, it would really depend on the type of longboard you're getting. A mini-longboard can run as short as 22'', (which is even shorter than the typical 31.25'' skateboard), and is easy cruise in, and would be more than able to navigate around people, in crowded streets even. Pool/Vert boards usually 28-34'', slalom boards (TS/GS series) around 30-36'' ,all around cruising-carving-bombing boards run 40-48'', and specialized downhill boards are in the +40" range and are usually made of heavier maple wood for stability.

ahh, nice info. I guess i'll go down to the local skate shop and see what best suits me.
  11. im thinking of picking up skateboarding. Thing is that im 24 and have no experience w/ it. Is it too late?

I want to do it because I snowboard/ski, but live in the midwest...so i have few chances to actually get out on the mountains. I figure skatebaording would be a good alternative
