  1. bathroom related:

When the bathroom is dead quiet and there's you and one or more other people all taking a shit and everyone tries to not make any noise waiting for someone else to break the silence.

and then when someone comes into the bathroom and makes noise everyone lets loose their bowels at once.

When this happens to me, I just flush the toilet like once every 20 seconds, and let shit fly the fuck out while the toilet is being hella noisy.

  2. Freecat, I was going to make a thread last weekend called "What have you lost while drinking?" and I instantly thought about you and your lost cell phones. (0)

Add another few things to that list now.

  3. Looks like there will be nomore pickups this year. Been sitting in the dark the past couple days trying to convince myself this is an investment, this is an investment.

I only call things investments if things can make you more money, create additional value for you, or if the investment in question can appreciate in value (get more expensive as time goes on).

Too late to ponder that definition for yourself, but hope you do good things with it.

  4. Maybe it's cus I was a tourist, so I didn't expect it to be so good. I know there are tons of chinks in Van, fuckin LA too, but lots of Chinese restaurants in LA don't make my cut.

There are more Taiwanese in the part of LA that I live in, than anywhere else in the world outside of Taiwan. Tons of HKers too, and nope, not making the cut.

  5. Check out Mr. Pickwick's Fish N Chips. Pretty obvious what to get here.

Check out Chambar. Order their congolaisse (mussels with tomato and coconut sauce. BOMB). Try their Belgian beers.

Check out Fritz for their Poutine after drinking (get chipotle mayo dip)

right next door to Fritz there's this pizza place called Numero Uno, which is decent when you're drunk.

There's some surprisingly good Chinese food in Vancouver too, in Richmond... Some of the places are better than in the motherland (0). I suppose it's because local Canadian ingredients are just better, and also some pretty decent chefs immigrated to Van.

If you want steak, I liked Hamilton Street Grill

Goldfish Pacific Kitchen is supposedly a really good Asian fusion restaurant, ran by some Canadachink. I never had the chance to try it, but read lots of good reviews about it

There are lots of good restaurants in Yaletown, actually. You can just check Yelp or Urbanspoon. There were a couple of oyster bars that I didn't have the chance to visit.

If you want tonkotsu ramen, there's this place called Kintaro that ALWAYS has a fuckin queue outside of it. It was because of this queue that I never bothered to try it. I'm guessing that it should be decent.

If you like Italian, I've heard some of the best Italian in Vancouver is at Don Francesco. This is coming from the advice of an Italian Italian friend in Vancouver. It's more $$$$ though.

And yo, I cannot stress this enough, but you really must must visit STEPHO'S on Davie Street for their roasted lamb platter. It's in the heart of Vancouver's gay district, but you really gotta get over it because it's probably going to be the best lamb you've ever had in your life.

Their other food might not be as good, but I wouldn't know because I always just ordered the roasted lamb platter, and a couple of sides.

And since you're Korean, I will just tell you that you can find all the kimchijigae, soondubu, bulgogi, and kalbi on Robson St.

  6. There are 1370 pages in this threak, so I can't be bothered to even TRY searching through it. Anyways, quick question for whoever that may help:

I'm looking to buy a road bike for recreational riding. I have no real long-distance bike-riding experience. I'm not using it for transportation or city riding, just for some cardio and exercise. Mostly flat terrain, and occasional inclined hills, but nothing TOO steep. I would be riding on a road that hugs the ocean that eventually turns into a hilly incline next to the bay. I don't think I need a light bike, but will someone prove me wrong?

What should I buy, and is $500 enough for a pretty decent bike for that purpose?

    Thanks in advance.

  7. The $600 was nothing though, lol. $500 of it was from casino winnings from the night before, so I could really care less about it. I'm glad that some people are enjoying it, I guess.

The next evening, I had dinner with my dad at a restaurant with a balcony view, right above from where I puked at Louis Vuitton the night before. My dad wanted to show me where I puked, so we stepped out to look. It just so happens that some old lady was in the midst of sweeping up my puke. I felt so awful and awkward about that. :(
