I agree with bobo, these jeans are a light fabric, and Im sure workers didnt want rigid, scratchy jeans , didnt people wash them a few times to soften them up back in the day? Ive compared my s5000bk's to my 20's 201's and theres a huge difference in weight and stiffness. This doesnt mean I consider the 201's inferior because I know originals were much lighter and I can only assume softer/less starched.

focused on my 1001xx and s5000bk's so I havent had a chance to wear these, as for fit I had a 34/34 in the 37's which i had to sell because the inseam shrunk to about 30.5-31 and looked rediculous, so I decided to get 36/36 in the 201's, they are very full in the legs and im sure sizing down or true to size before wash couldnt hurt. Ive found the rise a bit higher than my 37's.

gotta agree with the 1001xx(pictured) my favourite pair of jeans. LVC 201,33,37,44,oni etc are all nice as well.

i also have rather large thighs and a 34 waist, gets annoying for sure, my favourite cuts that I own are the 1001xx and I just got some LVC 201's which are verry roomy up top, my s500bk's are not bad but a tad tight, Oni reds,early year LVC models,evisu 2001 or 2000 are probably all good bets

it's funny comparing these to samurai because the way they are photographed is almost the same as the way sammies ae photographed on their site.

Yea I wasnt to upset with the looks, just thought it was kinda odd, they do look more vintage-like especially since the button fly is copper and the paint is kind of on some and not others

I just received some 201's from cultizm and, after I hot soaked them for about 3 hours pretty much all the black paint has come off the suspender buttons and the button fly, is this normal?

Their denim is unreal and they have some really amazing Lee repros they've done along with a few great modern slim cuts.

great to hear, ive wanted some RM for a while now but finding them and figuring out cuts and info has been real trouble, make sure you get some nice wide repros ahah
