@a-train oh yes a lot different. the japan heritage is part of the main Made in Canada collection & the denim is very very different.

The KD8 denim used for the big john collab is a lot smoother and has more of a classic vintage look to it whereas the japan heritage denim looks a lot more like samurai & oni denims with heavy slubs and irregularities.

These are a lot slimmer & lower than what I'm used to, but I still think it works...

I have a pair of these. the model is called CB 701-P which i think is a 1966 model (I know Bartack had an XX model too that was a bit looser & came with hidden rivets & leather patch) I got my pair second hand so they've been one washed & the patch is missing, other than that they are in pristine condition.

I've tried to do some research into this brand. Haven't really seen them anywhere except in the jeans pavilion blog. Apparently these jeans were discontinued sometime around '99 or '00. My pair is dated to '98

The denim is really nice. Green casted medium heavy with subtle irregularities & quite the vintage feel to it. Guess the weight is somewhere around 14 - 14.5 oz

The fit is a little wide for my liking & pretty damn tight at the waist but I still like em so I think I'm gonna working them in to the rotation, haven't really tried them on with boots yet. That will propably look better...

what's most interesting about this thread is, imo, that the LVC collections never really seem to be out of style. I mean looking at the catalogs from 2003 or even earlier the pieces are still highly wearable now. Maybe I'm biased or something since I really like the brand, but to me the garments really are timeless

Gave the jeans a second soak today. two hours this time. The waist now measures 30" and the inseam 32"

damn David...you put the Fullcounts back on my list.

But I'd prefer the 1101 because of the higher rise and little more room in the thigh-area

Sorry guys I never measured them earlier. I'd say they fit slighlty bigger at the waist than tagged. I think they would measure around 30" at the waist post soak, I mean they've loosened up a bit since the soak, so using the measurements I'm providing now doesnt really give the real picture of how much they shrank.

I hot soaked them for one hour & I've worn them for two days. tagged size is 29-34. now they measure 32" at the waist & 33" at the length.

I also measured my waist (on the bellybutton) and it measures 30.5 so yeah, I'd say size down one.

bathtub soak & hang dry in drying cabinet. they still quite coarse n rough to the hand. It still long john friendly temperatures here so it doesnt really matter though, I'm sure by they've soften up by the time it gets warm again

btw has anyone else felt that the inseam is kinda itchy? if so, how long until it settles?

And here are the post soak & a day of wear pics. In real life, the color is basically the same, it's just that the cameras color settings were completely different today.

I'm sorry but didnt really understand the question, but any way these jeans are 29-34. I almost always go for either a 29 or a 30 inch waist. my 811's are 30, my 710's are 29, my hawaii's are 30 all my lvc's are 30... I'm pretty sure my measured waist is something like 30.5. These fit really good
