  1. Yeah, just shrinkage. APC comes out to around 33-34" after washing, if I recall correctly. Hard to find dry denim that normalizes to a 35-36" inseam after being washed. By "normal" washing, I meant somewhere between every month and every six, but, basically, the difference between being able to wash them and treating them as dry clean only, which I personally think is pretty silly with jeans.

  2. Give the New Standards a try, they're straight leg. And you most certainly can wash them regularly, it'll keep the fit looking slimmer as well as it won't have as much time to get stretched out. I could be wrong, but the only difference about washing regularly is that you won't have as clearly defined fades, although I do believe that they will still, in fact, fade over time.

What? New Standards are tapers. And I meant regular washing as in actually being able to wash them, not washing every week. APC's inseam shrinkage would mean dry clean only.

ayn: Does Ande still have information on his women's cuts around? The current thread only has four of his men's cuts, but I remember women's stuff (and more men's stuff, too) I saw a long time ago.

  3. servo2000: I am still a bit skeptical about denim that thick cut like DH 19cm though, I'm also not sure if one can achieve the fit without darting the back... but I will be able to check them out in person to decide... :)

For tall girls, maybe some APC new cure? I think they're 36 dry, so just dry clean them... I was at the SF Bottega Veneta store yesterday and Megan who works there was rocking a pair of APC New Cure, looks super nice, she got their tailor to taper them even more too!

She's looking for something she can wash normally. I should also note straight leg or slight boot cut. Pretty sure she's not looking for skinny trend stuff like New Cures.

  4. Way the fuck out of my price range, unfortunately. I can't go above $100 on this, as nice as those look.

    [edit]

Hm. First couple of sites I saw had them listed at 350-450. Seems they're actually closer to 150-180, which is not nearly so bad, though still about a hundred over what I can afford.

  5. If you were using them with an iPod, the e3 is probably at the limit of the iPod and the mp3 file format.

And, yes, I find IEMs to be extremely uncomfortable. I have a pair of e2gs and I use a shitty, six year old pair of $30 Sonys far more often. Next phones I get are going to be big, isolating cans.

  6. someone on the other board is charging $70 + shipping for a hoodie. Not a bad price, but the troll cum 100% markup kinda gets to me. Montreal at least isn't a troll. I'd be willing to pay the price of whatever....

That guy was a cunt. This is fair. Why is he catching static for it?

  7. True Religion looks ridiculous on anyone. Lucky is really, really crappy. They charge high end prices for denim that makes the Gap look like Dior. Cuts are nice and the stores are really pleasant to be in, but that doesn't really make their jeans suck less. Diesel just bores me to death.

In terms of pure quality, 5EP is probably doing the best washed denim right now, but their high rise cuts and unforgiving prices have kept me away. So I guess I'd go with Earnest Sewn, because just about all other washed denim looks like crap to me.

  8. I really question the working conditions in American Apparel's factories. If they treat their workers so well, why are they producing such shitty garments? The quality issues are indicative of rushed production— the same kind of rushed production you find in, say, a Jamaican free zone using borderline slave labor for Jockey Caribbean. What they pay their workers may be documented and numerically verfiable, but I really wonder about the working conditions beyond pay.

  9. hoodie + blazer + arabic scarf + white boy = deuche bag

hoodie + blazer + arabic scarf + middle eastern looking man = terrorist

    ironic isn't it?

What's hoodie + blazer + kaffiya + half asian boy?

  10. Clinique may not have the best men's stuff, but my mom's skin is insane excema and adult acne, and clinique's eyeshadow and mascara are the only eye products that dont give her a rash. so yeah, if your skin's touchy, and you wear eye makeup, clinique is great.

Plus their basic mascara is an excellent formula, tho I prefer MaxFactor just because of the fancy brush.

For obvious reasons, I don't know makeup and women's cosmetics terribly well, but I've heard fairly awful things about Clinique's women's line from a friend who's read a lot at makeupalley. For what it's worth, the few ingredients lists I've seen made Nivea look like Shiseido.
