ilovespaz is the mastermind behind sling&stones!
he is a friend of mine also
i can't answer your questions ngbetter (i'll let him do that), but i just want to relay some info about the company that he told me
from ilovespaz himself:
Quote:fabric:
looking at the 'premium' denim manufacturers based in the U.S. everytime i read their hang tags, it would say..."this garment was made with the MOST luxurious cottons, with the HIGHEST quality construction" . . . so i thought to myself what constitutes as most luxurious or highest quality construction. . . .
so i did some research on luxury cottons and denim construction. . and many 'premium' denim makers buy japanese 'made' denim through a lot of the major japanese mills, but they don't understand that the big japanese mills actually have sent their production over to china, not to mention that they probably use cotton that have been sprayed with petroleum based pesticides 4 times a day.
and for construction...... they ship their sewing down to mexico where it is machine sewn, and then have it shipped up to the u.s. for post treatment and to sew on a care label which says... "constructed in u.s.a".... pretty coy.... pretty legal...
even though having jeans made by machines are higher quality because of less inconsistencies, but i.m.o denim with human interaction gives jeans their soul...
with all that being said, all s&s jeans are made from one of the most luxurious cottons in the world, PIMA cotton, who's fiber is 3 times longer and finer than most cottons. The denim is made at a small japanese mill in okayama japan. And right now we are actually trying to get all of our denims dyed in natural indigo. the denim is a 12oz.
All construction is hand done, with all interior chain stitching, flat felled inseams, flat felled interior construction, with heavey guage denim thread.
the david fit is a mid-rise straight leg....(its a butt lifter). . .
sounds like pretty damn cool shit to me. i can't wait to see them in person (and pick me up a pair). more info on thier site: http://www.slingandstones.com/

+1 for the little guys.
i am most impressed with :All construction is hand done, with all interior chain stitching, flat felled inseams, flat felled interior construction, with heavey guage denim thread.

i think these are selvage too. my friend runs this company...
maybe i can get him to make superfuture denim someday...

do you have any pics of you wearing the 103 or 105?
and if you do can you post your hight/wieght/ waist size?
0 -
how do you like the 103 and 105? how do they compare to a LVC 47? i have pretty big legs, i dunno if they would fit a 105 in the tigh area...
i was looking for something close to a 47 501 with a lower rise and a slight boot cut.. would any of those be what i'm looking for? the 103 looks right on.
and i right to assume the natural indigo denim is also 15oz cotton?
i would LOVE to have a SD-103XX in 21oz cotton left hand twill... does it exist?

hahah, i was thinking that that person i saw would be from supter future!! it was you i saw because they were raw indigos. i'll say hi if i ever see you agian, id only recognize you if i saw the imperials again, because i don't even think i saw your face, i just looked at your jeans... HAHA.Quote:
WHOA. You saw me or my twin brother wearing the Imperials here. He's got washed black and I've got dry indigo. Next time, come up and say hi.Quote:in seattle its not too rare, i see it on campus (university of washington) quite a bit. just today i saw someone wearing imperial jeans, other day saw some nudies. there is also a pretty large japanese population and i've seen some of them wearing some very vintage looking denim.

saw you in the quad talking to some girl i think? them jeans looked nice!
if you ever see an asian kid wearing lvc 47s, thats me! might be hard to tell cause i don't cuff though, and levi's look like levis
my friend has a pair of selvage nudies that are very fresh too.

hahah, i do skateboard and i use statch! i also walk ALOT, and ride a motorcycle. i also sit alot for studying, and i always rub the back of my knees against the chair i'm sitting. i also rub my hands on my jeans all the time (like when i'm in class or drving a car). i find that when i'm doing anyone of these activities, my jeans are worn differently (in hight that is). i think that maybe why the jeans creases can't settle, because were my knee bends (the back of the knee that is) is always shifting. i can't imagin wearing jeans and tighter that these are either, jut not my style.

damn how are people getting the creases on the back of their knees like that? do you have a pic of how those jeans fit on you?
my 47 LVC's don't fit baggy at all but i don't have that kind of creasing. i'm very active in them too. maybe too active?

hey guys, here some pics of the slim fits (936DEN)
i wear a 32/32 in a 47 501, these are also 32/32, but seem a little big, but i think they should shrink a little bit.
and also i ordered some 933DENGE, the GOLD edition versions of these, but in a darker indigo, which is also broken twill. i'll report back when i get those in. 40$! this time i ordered 31/32

very deep dark indigo dye is also used, you can definitely see the difference between these jeans compared to the current 501 shrink to fit models, these give off a very dark purple color. in artificial light, they look black! it looks just plain sexy with the high contrast stitching. the two tone stitching detail on the back pockets is very attractive.

keep us updated, cool shit.
if i could do that, i would take some rise out of my 47s in the rear above the "V" shaped seam, and also take the front rise up about an inch and remove a button from the fly.

thanks for the info!
also i forgot to mention that the premiums and capital E's do not have any rear pocket rivits.
