  1. a few months ago i posted about my daily wearer - a sinn 656s - and some people wanted to see more pictures. i forgot about the thread until recently, so i took some quick snaps with my point and shoot...

the crystal has an A/R coat which is pretty nice. some people complain that it scratches easily but i've worn mine every day for 7 months now and there's not a scratch on it.

i really like the finishing. their more expensive models have a tegimented finish, which is a process by which the coating is heated to a crazy temperature where it bonds to the casing (thereby making it more durable). the 656s is a sandblasted chrome plated steel casing, which is also pretty resilient but will eventually erode over time like most other pvd watches. i'm ok with that - tool watches ought to look somewhat beat-up anyways. at that point i will hopefully have the funds to invest in a dressier daily wear watch and make this one a weekend casual watch. the watch also comes with a black leather strap but i opted to swap it out for a rubber sinn strap for a more casual look.

  2. just bought a pair this saturday, sized up one from my flathead 3001 to a 32 waist. Shrank a great deal, over a full waist size, has stretched quite a bit though. The baggy fit is comfortable but not cohesive with my wardrobe. I am looking to trade my 32 for a 31, I truly am skinnier than I used to be.

What did you do to shrink the jeans? The shrinkage amount seems too little.

  3. It's from this japanese maker called 木調浪漫 (mokutyoroman?).I don't know much about the brand but they specialize in making wooden frames. The guy at the optical shop said it's a layer of wooden veneer over acetate but I'm still a little sceptical.

I think they're just acetate made to look and feel like wood? I have the same frames in reddish brown.

  4. Hey y'all I wanna order a pair of Okinawas from here but I am wondering how I'm supposed to order. Do they speak english or do I needa communicate in japanese only? If so, what is the best translator to use since a lot of translators are really inaccurate. let me know. thanks

Just fill out the form as you would in English. Then they'll send you a paypal invoice. They can communicate with basic english if you need to ask any questions.
