Sorry I haven't posted anything, I've been really busy. I did manage a soak on the night of Nov 1 and another hotter soak the next night. No newspaper though. I haven't gotten them hemmed either, but I did take them snowboarding today. Left some indigo stains on my boots and bit and pieces of the inseam have faded slightly. I like the stacks but I'll definitely get them hemmed at least a couple of inches.

Awesome pics Beatle, I've never seen Germany in the Fall or Winter so keep it up.

I'm really impressed with the site, it definitely has the right feel to it, mouseovers or not. I'll chip in money once the donate link works and I can start posting pics.

I doubt afford-ability has much to do with it, as the market is flooded with expensive jeans. I think the North American vision of premium denim is skewed towards consumer demand, which unfortunately happens to be an uneducated consumer in most cases. A lot of my friends are either into designer denim like Diesel or R&R, or will wear anything they find comfortable for less than 80 bucks. Even when discussing Japanese repro detailing with my friends in retail, they still don't get it because all they care about is what looks good, what looks expensive, and what sells. If anything you will see the purity of Japanese product become filtered by American/European companies by offering high quality japanese denim, complicated washes (or more recently one-wash), and modern-cuts. You shouldn't really care whether it's niche or not, do you actually wear it for what it is, or because nobody else wears it?

Maybe she's just being nice because everyone's been so patient. I dunno, I'm fine with soaking today, tomorrow, next week, whatever. If I go home and there's a paper sitting on the kitchen table, that's my cue to hop in the tub.

Okay , than... May the fun begin !
1 year - it's actually frightning....all those jeans that we'll buy = and not wear...this is so mad....
I'm actually glad that I have a solid excuse not to buy any denim for a year. I might actually have some money in my pocket for once.

Is anyone else concerned at this point, about excessive waist shrinkage? I'd hate to tear a button this early in the game....

I don't hate UO, but I don't shop there either.

I'm not sure how much I like this brand, but I do own one of last winter's hoodies and they obviously have a strong chinese influence in everything they do.

I just picked up this jacket about a month ago and I can't wear it with any of my jeans. I'm not the type to wear denim on denim, but i don't think it's a fashion crime. I might not be the best person to be talking about it though, cuz i tend to wear the same things casually as I do to go to work...

Tie 'em under your shoelaces.
Real gangster.
That's at best, ghetto fabulous, looks handy for catching anything that falls down your legs though.

you don't need tapered jeans to rock baggy stacks.

Yeah I wholeheartedley agree, and I'm probably the shortest dude here. Although I think it's much more important to match the rest of your warddrobe in terms of fit. If everything you have is relaxed or orversized, you don't want your legs looking like matchsticks.

Looking much better. The puffiness is also due to the thickness of the denim, and the fact that you had so much stacked at the bottom that it was puffing out your thighs and crotch. Once you break them in they'll drape a little more. It's still a very relaxed-looking jean so if that's what you're going for, then good choice.

I'm thinking the same, it will be an interesting couple of hours to say the least.

Looking good Beatle. I think I'll still stick to my own AA shirt (if I choose to make one). I think I'll also put a samurai logo or graphic on there as well, possibly just a red-upright rectangle with the word samurai on it, with the 'A' upright.

I'm betting twelve am used more than just starch, the area is just too white. I didn't know they came rigid, I thought it was just raw one-wash. Next time just spray with starch and blowdry hot whilst in crouched position. You'll hopefully get a little bit of shrinkage and tighten up the honeycombs. Don't be surprised if the front-side and profile look fucked up at first.

If it was shipped back, and Samurai knows about the whole address problem, you could technically still get your pair end of this week/beginning of next right?
