  1. Still a little vague to actually try and imagine what you're getting at. Other than the fact that it's cotton... and a blazer. Apparently you're looking for a cotton blazer, or perhaps a light peacoat?

I mean, on both counts, you can probably just find those at a department store. If you're looking for something more specific, you're going to have to be more specific.

  2. I've always (well, not always) been partial to Swears, but those leather Vans absolutely kill. Does anyone know where to get a pair? I've checked the usual spots, but alas, to no avail!

I'd consider opening my wallet and exchanging money for a pair of those, let me tell you. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make them anymore or something, just my luck.

  3. To be honest, most of those are really not good. I'm impressed that you're getting it off the ground, but get more designs like the panda and less of... that other stuff.

First, it just seems like there's not enough really good aesthetic sense and restraint going on, I mean, you got the good panda thing, but then you went and messed it up by doing the "all over" print.

Lose the all-over print for the panda. Use the panda design as the basis for other designs, perhaps.

Secondly, I assume that you're doing a survey to work on your "marketing tactics," or whatever.

My advice? Make everyone remember the panda, it's the best thing you've got going for you. Show multiple panda designs. If not just the panda, then get something cohesive going (i.e. base the whole line around one concept or idea so that the designs work together) so that it looks like you put a lot of thought into the whole line and not just one shirt.

    Just my two cents.

  4. It's been gone over before, but my two cents.

At first, I was intrigued that they were going to try to market to a different audience, then I remembered: "Oh shit! They're trying to cash in on an ingenuitive scene without doing any real work!"

The only reasoning for the overwhelming price-point is brand, obviously, but I'm really not feeling it. I'd be embarrased to be caught in anything that plain looking at the price-point. I don't care how nice it is, $900 a scarf?

I suppose it's reasonable if you're buying $200 shirts for the brand, but with a brand this shitty it don't make sense.

Personally, I'll stick to my thrift-store scarf that looks about 12 times better.

  5. A pair of shoes I grabbed off eBay for about $9. Maybe a little bit feminine looking, but what the fuck, I'll go out on a limb and say I like them a lot.

Don't hurt me too bad. (Yes, I did use the eBay pics, they haven't arrived yet, but technically I have purchased them.)

Rip on this as much as you want, I just threw on all of my thrift-store finds for winter some time ago. Fit on the jeans is awfully shitty at the very least.

That is, I'm taking the "Today" in the topic title to mean "about 4 weeks ago."

    Peace Out.

  7. I hate to Noob-spam the forum with questions, but I'm still working on my style, so so far I haven't had much too contribute to any particular topic so far. Hope to start working on that soon, but so far I'm still just looking through the archives and studying the SuperDenim forum.

In the meantime, I saw this wallet on the Nudie site:

Sorry about forcing copy+paste, don't know if this site uses BBCode or what.

Anyway, wondering if I could get an ID on what kind of wallet it is, where to get one, etc... Hopefully on line, since I'm in san Diego which isn't exactly a haven of great shops. If nothing else, at least what that sort of wallet is called, so I can do my own research.

Oh, yeah, and hello to everyone.

  8. Been lurking a while, but this is my first post. I was wondering if anyone knows of some good vintage, thrift, outlet, etc... stores in Southern California, i.e around San Diego. I know there's a few in Hillcrest, but does anyone know any others?

Thanks a ton for the help.

Also, been noticing a lot of requests recently for where-to-buy japanese goods, so I figured I'd throw out: <a href="http://www.bid-service.jp/home.html">Bid-Service</a>. Used it once or twice myself, worked good and didn't seem too expensive.

    Peace out.
