yea it's most definitely a west coast/hawaii thing. originated from hapahaole, which is half-white. i gotta say, it gave me a quick laugh to see this word on sufu.

i hear copy fits rather standard, not so much slim as it claims. iirc, the copy system hooded shirt has something like a 18.5" inch shoulder measurement for a size medium. im guessing the attached hoodie would be sized along those lines.

i think a size 8 should be fine for you. sabaku mids always seem to fit looser because the toebox is unusually wide. lace it up and you should be fine though. If you must your shoes extremely fitted, you could get away with a size 7.5
