From what I understand, it is from the 4-way junction where the inseam starts, up the fly to the waist.

The ones with the painted arcuate look pretty cool. The ones with the bling are too flashy for my tastes. I like the detail though. Levis with yellow selvedge?

The ones qwerty has up are Gap 1969's. Are those the ones with the red and black checkerboard pocket lining?
Yah the honeycombs look pretty nice, but the whiskers down the leg are kinda ugly. Esp the tiger-stripe like lighter areas.
This is my pair of 1969's, before I got the Levis Skinners I currently wear every day:
The whiskering is more subtle.
Sorry for the hijack, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

if you want quality, stay away from brand names like Emporio Armani and Boss etc. They're all made cheaply with fused lapels, etc.

ahaha oh man, my apologies. Its been a long weekend.Quote: Dude, sonick, it was 12 hours and 16 minutes.0 -
Triniboy, you're thinking off the STF. Not these supposed Levis Premium Selvedge.
If the material is anything like the Premium rigid Skinners I have, they shouldnt be too bad. I soaked them for about 45 minutes the other day for the first time in lukewarm water, there wasn't much indigo loss.

Dude, it was 16 minutes from the time you first posted and your bump. Have some patience.

Yah I have a pair of rigid skinners myself, I like the fit as well. The very low rise takes some getting used to, but its nice with the boot cut at the bottom, doesn't accentuate my chicken-legs
Before soaking I found the leg opening to be a tad wide, but I soaked them last night for the first time and they came out to pretty much perfect for my liking.
Is it just me, or do the Cap-E skinners in those pics seem a bit less slim?

LETS GO BIKE RIDING!Quote: this post lets me feel like i have ADD0 -
Quote: This technique can be repeated up to three times with raw denim
Dare I ask, what happens if you do it more than three times?

What are the fit differences between the strummer, skinner and austins?

yeah, i really liked the quality of the denim, its just the tightness below the knee was just too much for me.

cool stuff, i'll sign up later

I had purchased a pair of low rise boot cut. they were TIGHT AS HELL, especially below the knee. Like skin tight.
I wouldnt have minded if below the knee was looser while the thigh and waist was tighter. I wear pretty fitted, low jeans, but these were just TOO MUCH.
Denim was nice and soft, pretty nice quality.

Yea man, don't be raggin on the Stan Smiths.

if you wear them in enough to get some sick creases/fading before they are fully shrunken, you'll end up with the wear marks in the wrong place (like knee honeycombs on the back of your thigh becoz of shrinking in length).

He had placed a proxy bid, and another member was trying to outbid him, but never reached the bid price he had set, thus pushing the price up.

The thing with cheaper jeans is most of them are pre-washed, thus they will not lose indigo/create very high contrast in worn areas. also they are not as stiff/rigid because they are washed, which means less defined creases.
It is possible to find cheap raw denim though. I found my first (and current) pair of raw denim for $30USD, Levis Skinner Premiums
There is also the Levis 501 shrink-to-fit which have a rep of having low quality denim, which means they will lose indigo very quickly with each wash, and thus not producing very nice/high contrast results. However there are a few pairs of 501STF that have turned out real nice (there is a pair on the front page).

Anybody reckon if the 501's are sanforized or not? Will I expect much shrinkage?
I wear a 30 waist in my Premium Skinners, but they sit low. For the 501's, since they have a higher rise (and my waist is smaller than my hips), should I size down?
I haven't worn any other Levi's besides the Skinners I have, does Levis sizing generally run true? or a bit smaller/larger? Before the Skinners the Gap 1969 premium i wore a 28, but they sit a bit higher, and they are sized bigger than true.
Thanks

Damn, i like AA too. I don't buy advocate nor buy A&F because of their CEO and corporate mindset. I would be hypocritical if I continued to support AA after reading this.
The CEO of Abercrombie doesn't seem so douche-y after reading this article.

yeah, the opening is a TAD too wide for my tastes, but its manageable.
as for the rise, it took some getting used to, but now, when i try 'regular' or even some 'low rise' jeans they feel too high!

since styleforum.net is down, i've migrated here.
almost 5 straight weeks of easy wear (on the bus, walkin round town, at work, etc), give or take one or two days. nothing fancy, no deliberate rubbing/sanding/creasing.
pics are 1024x768, about ~525KB.
