i think that the aesthetic decision is a bit better. with framing or having contrast you get a heightened sense of the illusion of texture. i do like acid rain and some of the square ones the best though. they look pretty good.

gonna back Chrome bags. got mine and it's taken a beating, a sleeting, some raining, and some snowing... and a bit of hail. this bag is styled for your back when you're on a bike, so casual wear might not be too ideal since it'll be on one shoulder the whole time (also depends on your load, i have a large bag and pack it to the brim a lot)

nah-- even rolling stone is backing them. they've just hit every source of 'credible' music hype.

hey, if it's warm, waterproof, and a manageable cost-- i'd rock it.
looks quite good. does it also have a hood?

i think there's pitchfork hype... i mean too too many people only take their music advice from there.
but i think they're honestly a good band. they just happen to be the darlings on the indie world right now.
mmm deerhoof. i'm planning to see Crime in Choir when i go back to SF for spring break. makes me happy.

just recently saw Prefuse 73. good stuff.
listening to my favorite song on TCA's - You're only a rebel from the waist downward. sadly my favorite song on the album is the instrumental.
Thirty Called Arson - Have you met my friend Burns?

m65 derivitive i guess.
haha, since i won't be finding a supreme small...
anyone happen to see spiewak meade field jackets around? all the online retailers are out of smalls so i'd definitely love it if someone saw one in store and could pick it up for me? i'd love a charcoal or a black one.
hopefully it'll be on sale since spring is coming. sorry to be such a bother and ask for people to pick things up for me-- Pittsburgh is a pretty dry place for a lot of things. i think the worst thing it's dry for for me is the music scene here has suffered in the past few years. that's another story.

i'd like to fade some clothes, like some BDU camo pants and a black hoodie so their colors aren't as... well black. i want to fade their values-- not transform them to the pale pink/peach color you get with bleach discoloration. that's another project.

still haven't gotten a reply on how waterproof the jackets are that's basically the huge factor i'm looking for, warmth, and water resistance. i guess durability is a big thing too, but i trust that most of the brands making a military type jacket will make them quite rugged in construction.
and i know there have been plenty of threads about m65s, i just dont' feel they've addressed the areas i want to know about, so i started one to specifically ask about those factors-- not just about every other m65 out there. that just comes as a bonus.

what size print and colors? i do some screenprinting as a way to pick up some pocket change.

someone told me that glasgow has a ridiculous music scene. the girl from the cover from dear catastrophe waitress frequents a lot of shows.
i find belle and sebastian cynically uplifting, the music itself is cheery sounding, but it has an uncanny and really twisted sense of everything.

it's actually sold out.
unfortunately i pulled an all-nighter on the 21st, slept a lot of the 22nd, and didn't get the restocking email till last night very very late. fuckin hotmail decided to put it in the junk-mail portion so i never saw that they restocked and i was really really waiting on this jacket to go on sale again.
there's always evogear.com for $96... but we'll see when my paychecks come in :/
btw, circa survive is neat, ever heard of Taken? Circa's bassist came from that band, one of my favorites of all time. they're the band that got me away from awful music.

would if i could dude-- but the military surplus here isn't that great + it's hard to get to by bus.

so i've been obsessing and thinking about a new 'winter' coat-- now i know m65's aren't the heaviest, but i like to layer at least one or two under my coats so i figure i can stand the winter here in PA which isnt' too too bad.
things i'm trying to weigh though are-- How warm? how's the fit? waterproof or just water-resistant?
so i've been comparing brands, Spiewak's Meade Field jacket vs. the M-65s from Propper and Alpha. anybody have any inputs or say of one above the other? there's so much advice coming from all over but I want to hear a direct comparison if possible, especially in how waterproof or warm these badboys are.
thanks for your time.

2nded-- please please please do NOT use Jerzees small.Quote:PLEASE do not use a Jerzees brand small, they come nowhere close to fitting correctly, the torso is too baggy the shoulders are too wide and the sleeves are too short. An AA non-zip would be good for sizing, or an AA thermal zip, (I think the non-thermal AA zip-ups are a little strange.)

Ah, "Sad Bastard Music". I actually like Belle & Sebastian, but that line from High Fidelity always bops into my head when I listen to them.Quote:belle & sebastian - the life pursuit

yo dude, the fact that you "need clothes" for school is a bit of a ... this is going to sound preachy but IMO, grow up a little in whatever your'e comfortable and happy wearing, even if it's that lame middleschool tshirt wore in PE. style isn't all about brands, it's about wearing something you enjoy and are comfortable in. and don't give me that "i'm comfortable in *insert brand name*... even if it's an imitation..."
because that basically tells us you don't need to be on this forum, you can just go to the mall and buy anything in abercrombie or old navy and just be a follower like everyone else.
chances are you're going to look back on your high school years and remember that you've done some stupid things. i know i have. hell i dressed awful in high school, but that isn't the end of life. brand recognition isn't everything.

i don't really care to meet the dude. the one cute/endearing thing about that family relation is my little cousins who sing linkin park songs and have been to about 8 shows, all with backstage passes. these kids are 4 and 7. they've been singing linkin park for the past year, which is pretty adorable.
