  1. i love how that it's now cool to have a $2000+ bike your parents bought you and call it your "beater" or "polobike" while you hardly ride it, let alone play polo on it.

listen, herbert, you dont know me, so kindly remove your tonsils from my shaft. im a federal firefighter, so miss me with the mommy money routine. youre clearly vaginally bruised by the fact that i use one of my makinos to play polo on occasion, so much so that you neg me. how i choose to ride any of my bikes has zero to do with you, orphan.

also, my "beater" (sarcasm) cost me $700 shipped COMPLETE. i love you too <3

  2. p.s. fuck pink Gran Compe tires. i've been rocking this one on my front for a little over a month now, and look at how thread bare they are! ON MY FRONT WHEEL! i feel sorry for anyone who tried it as a rear tire, brakeless. one skidder quitter >:(

  3. ^i like it lots more than i thought. i was always planning on turning it SS because i wasnt crazy about the stigma behind them and i didnt see the benefits about always continuously pedaling, but now that ive ridden on it i see it fits more efficient/less tiring than a SS, and never costing isnt a bother like i thought itd be. think ill keep it, even though ive already gotten shit-talked on the street, and i dont even ride as much as lots here.

is it THAT bad out there? the "fixed gear hipster stigma" that is. here in hawaii, its getting almost common to see track bikes on the streets, but no hate at all from the general public. i dont get it.

  4. no prob. Are you talking about the Kal lugs? they sell them through the site, but my builder sure as fuck doesn't speak japanese.... I have no idea, some super ninja proxy named Tanabe, apparenty.

Tanabe-san is Kalavinkas master builder. the lugs your builder is getting is probably direct from Kalavinka, as Tanabe-sans apprentice (Masaki-san) speaks decent english and handles the gaijin orders using Tanabe-sans email address.

  5. hows the riding in hawaii (you're in hawaii, right icicle?), is it as amazing as I'd imagine it to be? Much of a scene developing?

its fucking grand riding out here. we live on the "main island" of oahu which has the best of both worlds- pretty big city and lots of rural. we have the usual city staples: Critical Mass, Alleycat races, weekly hustles etc. not to mention a HUGE roadie culture. the fixed scene is growing for sure. its not uncommon to see 3 or 4 random fixed riders in a given day, and our group its self is about 15 riders deep (or shallow, i suppose)...which im sure is a joke compared to most of you in the big cities. but hey, not bad for a tiny tropical island in the middle of the sea. best part is, we can take the ferry to the neighbor islands and ride looooong empty roads all day.
