  2. Between this guy, the "Christian Dior Homme suit" guy, "Mr. trendy cardigan sweater poses" guy, and the Korean "kekeke this looks like helmut dior lang homme" guy, I've given up. ;_;

    ps. This isn't a Dior Homme jacket. This is a vintage shitty CD jacket.

  3. Who's performing/responsible for the manufacture? APC or Nike? I really wouldn't mind a decently made pair of simple black tennis shoes. Maybe they just remind me too much of my old Helmut Lang shoes (RIP).

    Yes you are obviously not schooled.

    to be honest neither am I in US trademark law. But i do know with my dealings in Asia and Europe that neither american apparel would struggle to be registered in most regions.

    let me explain to you as obviously my last post was too oblique.

    apparel is a common usage word, like clothing, sportswear, shoes, shirts.

    If I went to register American Apparel and there was already someone with American Clothing, american shirts or in fact American ****** in the business of clothing/fashion/manufacturing, then there would not be a significant enough difference for the market to discriminate between brands.

    Don't get caught up with the word apparel it just means clothes and hence (i'm not totally sure) would be classified as common usage and not enough to differentiate.

    Furthermore, names of places are often not allowed to be trademarked, so thats why I asked the question.

    Your first two sentences are just golden.
  5. The speculation that I've come across is that Bertelli put Raf in that position to add value to the brand, and that selling was the whole point of the exercise... Think about it, would you want to buy a designer-less brand or one that has one of the most up-and-coming name attached? Not sure what will happen to the Jil Sander label, but I see a lot of shoes/accessories in their future.

  6. I think Helmut Lang's cut is more than worth the money I've paid over the years. Thankfully the label hasn't gone up in value since the 2005 blowup, so I manage to get a few pairs for under $100 each. :)

  7. IIRC, Firstview has stopped archiving Dior in general after a dispute with LVMH, and they just cleaned house and removed the hidden folders. ;_;

    On the topic of jean cut, I'm a big fan of the straight-leg cut, ie Helmut Lang. I don't know how easily you'll find size 30/31's in your inseam length, though.

    I assume with this brand of logic your name MUST, without a doubt, be derived from Minya, the Godzilla monster right? icon_smile_dissapprove.gif
  9. Butch Blum has some nice stuff, Ann Demeulemeester and Jil Sander, maybe some Yohji too, can't recall. The jeans they stock are alright iirc. Unfortunately for me, they don't actively stock much in the way of small sizes ;_;

    Barney's New York has a nice range of Acne jeans as well as a few pieces of Costume National and Dior Homme.

  10. LOL, welcome to the wacky world of European sizing I should have clarified, though. For example, I'm a 38" chest size (US Small), which converts to a 48 in european terms. The only problem I've had with yoox is that the search results sometimes mix the two up, something will show as a 48 when it's actually a 58, etc. Or it shows as a 38 when it's actually a 48 IT, and so on. It's best to check each item and size that falls within your two numbers (mine are 38 & 48), as yoox will always note the actual size as shown on the tag in the item description. Which, for my 38" chest, is a 48 IT.

    For instance:

  11. Heh, I should have given you some help: Yoox.com. Currently they have a fall/winter sale, in which you can get a load of CNH clothing at great price points. Dress shirts ranging from $90-$130, casual & dress pants anywhere from $50 to $150. Given your description, I'd guess you're probably a tagged 48 in pants, maybe a 48 in shirts too? Hard to say considering the armlength issue, but don't worry about baggy arms, CNH is Dior-slim in the arms... Besides, Yoox accepts returns/exchanges graciously, so I recommend grabbing something and finding out where you stand in terms of fit, and trading it in if it doesn't work out.

    Hope this helps.

  12. I've always been happy with the slimness of Costume National Homme. CNH is pretty under-the-radar, so you can usually pick up shirts for a relative steal. I have a few that I've only paid $60 or so for, and a few pairs of pants that I snagged for about $80 each. Not 'cheap' mind you, but you're willing to pay for Sevens, so I can't imagine it being much of a stretch.
