  1. Been looking into getting a sweater for a long time, weighing up between SDA, BR and TSG after some looking around.

Not sure about that there sizing though. My approx measurements are.

41" chest, 17.5" shoulder to shoulder, 23" shoulder to wrist. I'm also 6' and about 187lbs, last time I weight myself.

Wouldn't want a boxy fit, because I think that looks like chit. Something a bit more fitted, like how it looks on the guy on the Self Edge site. Medium probably sounds like my ticket looking at hte measurements on SE too.

Also, how's their denim? I haven't bought any decent denim since like the SExDBxSuFu collab in 2009 and been meaning to get some more for a long time.

    Bumping this.

  3. As detailed here (http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php?/topic/47647-samurai-jeans/page__st__17070#entry2785535) it's been a while since I last got a pair of jeans. Started putting on muscle again, recently and the jeans that I did have, no longer fit me at all, again. To be honest, I've been out of the whole dry jeans malarkey for so long, I'm pretty much green again.

Currently measure at about 6'00", 188lbs, 33" natural waist, 36" lower-waist/upper-hips (where I'd wear my jeans), ~26.75" upper thighs, ~19" lower thighs. 15" calves, 33" inseam, 39-40" outseam.

Would love to get jeans that fit similarly to my old Samurai S5000VXs or the SExSuFuxDB09 collab jeans (click), so quite slim; if I was skinnier, I'd probably be looking at something like FH310, 3001s (at least below the knee), but I know I'm not going to fit into something like that with my current measurements.

I guess there's also the option of sizing up on something like the FH jeans I mentioned, but they're only a rough guide for the aesthetic I'd prefer, so I'm open to suggestions. Preferably with a button fly. Companies that still use the Levi's-esque acurate and red tabs would be another bonus. I was also looking at (and will probably get in the future anyway) some Samurai 0500XXs, and that's probably as relaxed as I'd like to go at this moment in time.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Not too rigid with what I'd prefer as long as they have a mid-rise, can accommodate larger thighs and probably a bit extra (though I could always size up) and be tapered slightly to give a slim/straight-slim fit. Weight of denim isn't a huge deal as long as I my skin can breathe. Cost-wise, something in the Samurai price range, so around £200 (~$300)ish.

  4. there you go. both size 33 and 34

    http://supertalk.sup...e/#entry2395377

I think, better go with the 510 cut based on your thighs

    That's brilliant, thank you.

Not going to lie though, I'm not really a fan of how relaxed the fit of the 510s are. I think I'll put off getting the Sams for now... I'll finish my bulk and when I've cut back down to around 10-11% BF, I'll look into them again. I haven't had a pair of jeans that has felt as nice as my old 5000s, so I'm dying to get another pair of Sams that fit again.

Bit of a shame because not even 5 months ago, I could fit into my sz30 5000s.

  5. Need to get my first pair of jeans in 4 or so years on account of my last 3 pairs no longer fitting me at all (they're all sz 30-31, I'm currently measuring in at about a 33-34 due to muscle mass), so they're in forced retirement until I eventually get skinnier again, in the far future. Decided to get a pair of 0500s (probably), as I've asked before and

My upper hips, where I'd naturally have my jeans sit after stretching come in at about 37" at the moment due to my ever growing ass, from squats. My waist, where the jeans would probably have to be buttoned up to before stretching is around 33" (though I do still need to cut, so that will lower). My upper thighs are just shy of 27" and will probably go up another inch or three in the future.

Comparing between sizes and looking at the 33 and 34 measurements on BiG (unwashed) and e2nd (washed), also assuming that washed jeans tend to stretch to unwashed sizing (from personal experience). I'd prefer to get the 33" for a slimmer fit, but 34" is probably more realistic and also has a bit more allowance for gains.

For the sake of reference, I'm 6'00", ~188lbs, my natural waist as said earlier is about 33" and my low-waist/upper-hips are around 37". Upper thighs are currently shy of 27", lower ~19".

Would be fantastic if someone with 33 or 34 0500s could measure theirs.

Preferably, I'd loved to have been able to get another pair of 5000VXs or even 710s, but I don't think my dimensions really allow for such jeans any more.

  6. I think I've asked this before, I forget.

Anyone know where else I can get a maroon loopwheel sweater in medium? (Like http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=10752&category_id=115&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=62 )

Been trying to find one for a while. BiG seems to be the only place that stocked them from where I looked and they only had large.

  7. Trying to find myself a plain maroon/burgundy loopwheeled sweatshirt. Struggling to find one though. Saw a Samurai one on BiG, but they only had it in large; 2nd only seems to have light colours. Checked other brands like Real McCoy, Buzz Ricksons and Studio D'Artisan, but they only ever seem to do the standard grey and navy, which are nice, but not what I want at this moment in time.

Any other companies I should look at? Or other shops to look at to robocop?

  8. Not quite denim related, but does anyone have any idea where I'd be able to find this sweatshirt in medium or small. Got a hankering for a maroon/burgundy loopwheeled sweatshirt and that fits the bill pretty well, but I'm finding it difficuly to find one (from a previous season?)

  9. That's fair enough.

I need to wear these down anyway, they're barely worn save for a bit of fading. So it'll be a while before I get a new pair of jeans, but wearing these Sammies again pretty much ensures that I'll end up getting another pair, without a doubt.

Was my recollection right about the 0500s?

  10. I started wearing my S5000VXs again recently on account of losing a lot of muscle mass over the last year. I've probably worn them more this week than I have done in the last 2 and a half years.

I forgot how good the slubby, thick denim feels. I'm not going to lie, I do wish that the waist was a little wider so that they'd sit slightly lower and for the hem to be slightly smaller, somewhat akin to my SxSExDB09's hem and perhaps a bit more thigh room so that I could still wear them when I eventually bulk out again. But for my current build, they are almost perfect.

IIRC, the S0500s would probably fit the bill of my ideal fit (a bit more give at the top; a tad slimmer at the bottom), but they only came in 14.5oz?

  11. Started wearing my sz30 2009 SExSFxDB jeans on account of not working out and getting skinnier (thighs have gone down from like 25.5" to 23" or so) over the last year.

Just did a quick errand in my bike wearing them, figuring being skinnier means that they wouldn't be uncomfortable to ride a bike in since I wasn't uncomfortable wearing them any more.

It was only a short ride, but my legs basically had no oxygen getting to them and it was pretty much anaerobic all the way. I was absolutely heaving by the time I got to the post office. I haven't felt that awful from such unstrenuous activity in years. I don't think I'm skinny enough to wear them on a bike, yet.

  12. Don't know why I never thought to ask in this thread.

But I figure there must be someone around who can help me out.

Basically, left a pair of jeans in London to get fixed like half a year ago. Never got back round to going back due to riots and then just getting caught up things detailed in the first post I linked and especially now, having to care for my mother and step-father, full-time, I don't have the time to go to London at all. I need someone to go to Covent Garden to pick up my jeans, if the guy still has them (doubtful, but there's still hope). I'll pay for the inconvenience, obviously.

If anyone can help, post here, or shoot me a PM. Much appreciated.

  13. I'm sure there are people who are tired of hearing this schtick from me in this thread as it isn't really relevant.

But for reasons I can't help (see: http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php?/topic/3711-haterism/page__st__14550__p__2657684#entry2657684 ), there's no way I'll be heading down to London at all within the next 3-4 months if previous experience is anything to go by.

So, as before. If anyone is in London and happens to use Dale down in Covent Garden as a tailor, I'd like to ask if someone could see if my Sugar Canes are still with him and if they could pick them up and send them up north to me. Kinda doubting it as it's been 6 months now, but I can't really leave home for a good while.

  14. In the last year:

Dismissed from med school. Got diagnosed with depression, yadda yadda.

A couple of days ago, my step-dad had a stroke; similar to the one my mother had. He's going to be disabled and he'll need care once he's discharged from hospital. He was supposed to be my mother's carer since she'll never fully recover from her stroke (although she's in good stead, all things considered). He's not quite as bad as my mother since he's at least concious; whereas my mother was out like a bulb for the first week or so, but it's bad enough to know that he isn't going to be making a speedy recovery.

It's kind of a good thing that I was dismissed from med school (as shitty as it is), since I'll be home to look after the two of them.

If my family and I needed another kick in the teeth, this was certainly it.

I've had enough drama from the other side of the family with my older brother and Step-mother fighting over my dad's business, but the side of the fam I get a reprieve from that shit has to go through another stroke.

Seriously, fuck this shit. If life, God, karma, or whatever was a person or physical entity, I'd be beating the living shit out of it right now.

Edit: The lack of capital letters here is pretty fucking shitty too. I'd never have thought that I'd miss SuFu 4.0

  15. Hadn't spoken to my dad since dropping out of med school earlier this year; couldn't deal with the shame and probable berating I'd been expecting since the guy wasn't even happy with my school of choice before.

Saw him today for my nephew's first birthday and he was actually really supportive. Much more supportive than he's ever been at any point in my life. Which was a surprise. A nice surprise. But at the same time, I still feel like a big let down.

  16. 8 million people look up at this point...

    :P

I mean, that would be able to head down and see if Dale still has my jeans. I have the worst luck when it comes to calling and I'm a bit busy with Christmas coming up. More than willing to pay someone to pick them up if they're still there.
