this was a cool design, turkish flowers on a hoody. it was made for one of those big annonymous cheapie girlswear fashion chains in europe (jennyfer), totally ghetto, but i was surprised that this was so well-designed. i bought it in one of those back alley flea market fashion places in istanbul.
as for the rest... well, if you're a short woman you're pretty fucked as far as street style goes. all the cool stuff is in guy's sizes. o well! the zara's children's department does good rip-offs of trends and they have good embroidery on their pants too.

that's the old location... the old location used to be a chinese restaraunt, so that's why the font is like that. now it's cleaner and bigger and in an ex-irish pub.
i only have gone there twice, but it's a really nice place, the new place is a lot bigger and i've heard lots of good stories about their late hour parties. most of the people that go there are expats, especially brits, canadians and americans. there's lots of rock stuff going on.
it's run by expats... a nice place to get a good burger too!

i never even knew about mavi jeans until i went to istanbul. it's not usually my style, but i like their stuff, at least after i saw their stores in turkey. this is one of my favorite tacky tourist t shirts.

hey samsikle! where do you live? i'm in germany, so gsus is quite popular here, but i know that karmaloop sells some, although not all of the collection. i like that label because they have a wicked sense of humor (the theme this season was russian hip hopski) ... and it miraculously fits me!Quote:holly, love the jacket. the only store that i knew of by me that sold gsus closed down. mega bummer. do you know of anywhere online that sells?

her shoe line is the only female sneaker line that has appealed to me. all the other shoes they make for women are lame. they're good, but not the best. all the more reason to take hikes to japan or london, where women have a better fashion sense!
i bought mine for $15

yeah everyone is hitting berlin for the world cup! there should be a supertalk get together!

there are other topics on berlin, but they are dead threads, and besides, what are you into, etc?
nuremberg is not that close to berlin, it's closer to munich, but it's a lot of fun. but the adidas corporate headquarters is in a tiny town near nuremberg.

this is pretty typical. H&M sends teams of their designers out to the fashion shows in Milan and Paris and I think they rip out copies within 7 weeks and send them out to stores. Zara and Mango operate the same way too, but they are even quicker: it only takes 3 or 4 weeks. it's what you call vertical marketing! it's destroying smaller labels and shops...
especially in Europe, where H&M rules. i actually don't mind a lot of the designs, because they are OK quality for the price (as opposed to urban outfitters, which is hugely overpriced for its quality) but you can't walk 2 feet without bumping into someone wearing the same thing. and they use standardized buttons, so it gets awful boring really quickly
i've noticed h&m copying triple 5 soul too, carhartt, pretty much everybody. that's how it works!

ack, what happened to the good vibes on this thread? oh well!
here's a random foot, no labels, just a cheap trendy brand i ebayed from hong kong (the cool street style stuff seems to rock it in asia for girls... bangkok was where i found kaws t-shirts in xxxxxs!)

at least they come in smaller sizes! (for women)

hey ladies
do you have any tips for finding cool shoes in women's sizes (like men's size US 5 and smaller?)
there are some bleak prospects if i search for stuff like the nike avenger on ebay in my size.
and then there's also the irritating redesign for the "market" where companies take cool shoes and make them for women but in horrid combinations of white and pink. (why is it so difficult to find adidas superstars in black and white in my size?)

wow, i just got back. what a cool place!
there's just too much there... i couldn't even get my sense of direction until it was almost time to leave.
but yeah, iskital cadessi, that huge walking strip, is the place to go. the people there are so beautiful too!
it's also the home of mavi jeans http://www.mavi.com

yeah, what are you in town for?i like that place, it's one of the cool places in mitte & prenzlauer berg, i don't like the nightlife in those places though so much. lame people.
definitely check out ostgut / berghain, it's always good, but really really late into the night, like 4-6am???? on weekends. kreuzberg is ghetto but my favorite neighborhood, friedrichshain has the best clubs.
tell me when you're here, i can tell you what events are going on...
