  1. you can buy a copy of time out istanbul at most of the tourist places. it comes out once a month... definitely check out the iskital cadesi (sp) in beyoglu... it's long shopping pedestrian street, and at night it's full of clubs, goths, and punks.

  2. ** I don't have an automobile. that saves a lot of money...

** i work full time but i don't earn a lot. most of my money goes to travelling, and that's something I will never regret. It's foolish to wait until you are in your sixties to travel... the time to go is when you are young, fit, and open-minded.

** i buy expensive clothes, but only 2 or 3 pairs of nice jeans (under 100 EUR but over 50 EUR). buying fewer nice things is better than buying too many shitty things. and then for the really crappy trendy stuff, i stick to h&m, the throwaway stuff that gets ruined after 5 washes. that stuff costs only 3 EUR anyway.

    ** cheap apartment, used furniture

i don't skimp on books, records, or nightlife.

  3. man... i looked and saw guilty anal pleasures.... need to get my mind out of the gutter.

as far as songs, any really slack dancehall. if it has a name like "yah pum pum tight" i love it.

all cheezy dancehall is a guilty pleasure!

  4. I dont think theres that much of a difference..? I'm pretty sure my girlfriend buys the same sizes here in europe and over there, depending on the brand and fit of course but overall I'd say they're quite close? I'm not sure if youre talking about H&M or generally...?

i'm in the states at least once a year... and i notice the sizing differences. i'm very small, but a zara dress will have a tag of XS for the us and an S for europe. spain and France get the S when Germany and the UK get the M too.

the only american brand i can think of that sizes small is triple 5 soul. but adidas is european, and their S missy elliott baseball pants are falling off me...

  5. H & M has a "larger line", and in its larger stores they will probably include it. it would make sense, since people are heavier in the States... the larger lines are for women, I haven't seen any sections for men.

but most of the really stylish stuff, you're probably going to have a hard time. A women's size small in the US is a europen M or L... (for reals, man).

  6. Saikaku- short stories

James Clavell "Shogun" - buy this book you won't regret it. This is what a samurai soap opera written by Dostoyevsky woul be like, once he got over his Christianity.

    Issa

    i love saikaku!

and shogun is one of my guilty pleasures... i find it cheezy but fun.

  7. I have always craved LRG but i have breasts, so the clothes were too big for me. I saw luxirie, LRG's new line, on karmaloop. I hope there's more than what I see... i'm sort of wishing for all the things I loved about LRG.

Has anyone bought anything from luxirie? comments on the quality and the fit?

  8. i highly recommend it! but july it will be crawling with tourists... it's been hyped up a lot the past few years. dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities on earth.

it's extremely easy to get around down there. jadrolinja ferries have an online booking schedule and stuff...

  9. you'll have fun no matter what..

.but it's ----not----- central at all (don't let anyone fool you).... all the best clubs are in friedrichshain, which is about 45 min away by the fastest train... same with taxi. there are cheaper better hotels in the east part of town imo.

berlin is about 8 times the size of paris area wise and 4 x the size of london. it's really spread out. i would advise against staying in kudamm! it's not even really near most of the tourist sights!

  10. i don't have a good opinion of london. get out as quickly as you can! canadians always go there because everyone speaks English... there's the rest of europe to discover! luckily there are many budget flights to get the hell out...

prague is full of too many tourists. i don't recommend it. or at least go during a low season... not recommended in the summer...

    berlin

    paris

    krakow

    rome

  11. there are a lot of things there, i hear. i mean, it's a wealthy city with many fashionable people. Unfortunatley I haven't been there. Just from surfing the web i have found these stores:

    http://www.arkadius.com/anotherplanet/stars.html

    http://www.inyourpocket.com/poland/warsaw/en/category?cid=58843&chid=319&page_index=60

kaws t-shirts and levi's jeans will be the same wherever you go, and probably more expensive in warsaw than in say london. if i had the money i would check out the local designers!

  12. i've been wanting purposely fake-looking fake stuff.

does anyone know of a good source besides eBay?

i.e. i saw a von dutch burberry baseball cap

i also want some infamous fake gucci sneakers...

    help a girl out!
