Wayfarers are huge now... Everybody is jumping on the trend hard. I have a pair from a few years ago that I never wear because I feel like I should snorting lines (indoors) next to Clay in Less Than Zero.

I must have missed the wayfarer bandwagon. I just liked the way they fit my face. I mean, I remember the Blues Brothers and seeing them in movies like Risky Business. But I haven't met a single person around here who wears em'. Thought I might be buying something a little different.

I guess I'll stay away from fashion forwards cities while wearing them in order to avoid trendy stereotypes.

Fuck trends. Being pissed because sunglasses of an older era are trendy again?

    Question: WHO FUCKING CARES.

PS England: I'll be sure NOT to wear them with anything you said not to. If you don't think they look good. Of course they won't look good!

    Damn You People...*sigh*

  2. I feel like Baskew has made one of the most valid arguments to date in this forum. A bit of background knowledge and information that applies directly to the thread. It's really quite nice.

I agree that Carls work might seem exploitative at first, but when it comes down to it, his intentions are not to exploit at all. There's no mockery or negative connotations that accompany the photos. Only the way that they make you feel. Whether negative or positive the photos are as real as it gets.

  3. From what I've seen in my experience working at Hollister Co. (A&F Subsidary designed for the somewhat younger crowd), the demand from asian exchange students and asain youth in general is fairly high.

I'd say that at least 35% of our sales are to asian shoppers.

To whoever said it, the clothing produced by A&F and Hollister (Literally the SAME clothing with a few design differences and a small price difference) is of fairly high quality. But I can't stand wearing the stuff, other than maybe a polo or the shorts here and there, outside of work.

The stereotype here in the US is just too strong. But what I find interesting is that the asian crowd here in the US as well as in Asia has managed to disregard these negative connotations and wear the clothing for its aesthetic value. I would love for those in US to do the same.

    Good luck with your reselling.

  4. I've never seen shiny socks before England.

Anyways, First day of Spring Term. I've changed three times now and seeing as the sun has decided to stay I'm sporting some of my favorite shorts.

    Navy Tee Shirt

    Polo Ralph Lauren

  5. Not sure how Relevant this is but Footlocker here in Eugene, OR has a grip of the NYC Adicolors. They've also got the adicolors with the interchangable stripes.

If anybody needs a pair, I'd be more than willing to pick em' up. I'm not on top of the Adidas shoe game so I haven't a clue as to the hype of either of these models. The fact that they're at footlocker tells me they're worthless.

PM me, I think they're 79 for the NYC's and 69 for the others.

    LOL.

I liked a few parts of it. But it definitely would have been better had they talked to some guys like RetroKid who really pack some heat.

I mean, don't get me wrong, everybody on there had heat...but it wasn't really quite the same "heat" that most sneakerheads think of these days. IMHO (I hate that little acronymn but it fits).

I'm loving the sweater, and my friend Jay has that shirt (He's your typical frugal white kid that buys polo...but ONLY at TJmaxx and ONLY if it's under 20 bucks).

We made fun of him for wearing it on grounds that he just looked goofy. But he also tried pulling it off with plaid shorts.

But that outfit is sick YouWish. I'd rock that any day. Maybe I'll show Jay your pic and hope to god he picks up a few style tips.

  8. No, Don't wash your jeans!

A cold soak in the tub will get rid of some shrinkage...but WASHING WILL AFFECT YOUR BREAK IN PROCESS.

I'm sorry, but I just can't recommend a machine wash right off the bat.

Cold soak, you'll lose a tiny bit of indigo but NOTHING compared to a machine wash.

I think you'll be pleased with a simple cold soak.
