  1. So if I'm coming from the plateau where do I want to enter the park? And how's the weather been lately? I'm bringing a coat but is it still winter or that grey rainy purgatory stage that lasts right up til summer ass rapes the city with humidity type shit?

  2. Invade his privacy? Shit was on the internet, nothing on the internet is private. LOL.

Not gonna give complex a cover now tyler? HA! they will be around long after everyone has forgotten about you. Take the money and run, kid.

yo, ima agree with you in the sense that gettin on complex's jock list is a gold mine, but these dudes have made their cache off of biting the hands that feed them and if they want to make petty beef out of this, its only gonna result in more press and more street cred.

whoever calls the shots on OFs behalf is a fucking genuis. every industry mistep or faux pas has really worked in their favour. id compare them to the clash if they put a good record out.

  3. Doing a shoot with Trich is a bold shortcut to jumping the shark in the eyes of indie aficionados, but a great way to market to late-comer hipsters = probly a good move. These dudes are really playing their cards hard. Who's managing them? They could pull 5 years outta a 6 month gimmick if they keep this pace and grow with it.

  4. Atmoshperes new joint dropped. Probly the first time I hav'nt liked an album they put out. It's not really bad or anything, it's just kinda stylistically confused. I hope that blueprint album comes through though.

  5. Gonna put it out there, I wasn't blown away by Catcher, especially given its standing in the history of literature.

when did you read it? like i said, its usually a point of entry for most men into literature. unless your parents really push you to read, of course. but i know alot of guys who went from catcher into other "classic" guy lit. i think the tragectory is usually salinger - vonnegut - heller.

although, i also know alot of guys who read catcher and then just started buying alot of other similarily praised novels to keep on their bookshelf even though they never finished any of them. these are the guys who own all the kerouac stuff and probably have an acoustic guitar they cant play leaning against a surf board they cant stand up on. i sort of boycotted anything beatish for a while when my friends were going through this stage.

theres other books that have the catcher effect. fight club was a big one. less than zero, too.

  6. my experience is that if you read it too far away from the age holden is in the novel, itll all seem pretty bratty, self-absorbed and naive. but if your caught up in that shit, as most kids are when they get forced to read it, its not just something you can relate to, its often the first time you feel that a book is actually communicating with you on a personal level. as in, when you read in high school, you havnt developed a taste for literature outside of whats been assigned to you and catcher kind of opens up a dialouge with you that often informs what you want to read henceforth.

  7. Clo: you may have just mindfucked me for the novel. That's the kind of thing I hate knowing going into a novel because now I'll be reading it through an ironic filter, as if it being a DFW work, and being post-humous and incomplete wasn't enough. God damn the exponential layers of post modernism. I feel like I should wait a year so it's not such am existential can of worms. Did you finish it already?
