Haven't worn these too much more, just out to do yard work every once in a while. Here's an update.

sugarcane 47's 6 months hard wear, 3 months occasional 3 washes.

I think LA Guy is right. The inner stitching on the crotch area of my onis (2 stitches) has worn down, kind of like how the arcuate wears down where there's abrasion from wallets. I love the jeans, but it's annoying the the stitching would wear down so quickly. I'm going to hand stitch it back up if it wears down anymore.

yeah, it's a soft shell w/o a hood. It's kind of difficult to get a good pit to pit measurement of the jacket because the construction isn't a little different than normal. When measured from the sideseams it's 19.75" but if the jacket is totally laid down flat and measured from side to side it's close to 24.5" . I'm a normal US 38 and this jacket fits me well, 5'9 160 lbs.

I saw go for it man. I would try a warm wash though, i don't know how much the cold water is gonna fade the jeans. The whole sand causing some abrasion sounds interesting. I've been waiting to see these for a while man, i'm tempted to wash mine too. Post some pics

If the forks and magnets don't work, the worst case scenario is taking the dremel to it. You'll get shards of plastic everywhere though, but once you dissect the casing you should be able to figure out how to remove the pin.
