  1. Hi

Depends what jean you want from the Tsubi range. I have the skinny ones (joeys or something like that - can't remember now but they're quite cool) anyway - I take a 28 and so I got a Tsubi 28 and, like all jeans, they stretch a bit and you have to wash 'em to bring 'em back into line.

Don't go any lower than a 26 - I don't even think that's humanly possible. The thing with skinny jeans is not necessarily the waist but the thigh - too tight on the thigh and you're fucked because you'll look like a tit. The waist is going to stretch anyway but not as much as the thigh.

So, go for the 26 that you go for in all the other jeans...

  2. Hiya

Well, I just bought a cotton shirt called a, "Rock Shirt" from All Saints and another shirt that's white but with a black tee over it - again from All Saints. I will be sporting these with the new Dior skinnys so I hope I have not made a sartorial faux-pas with my new purchases...

  3. A SIZE 28?!?!?!

Dior Homme skinny jeans (in blue or black but not raw) in a size 28 waist??? I managed to nab a black pair in Harrods but went back for another and all the shops in Europe have sold out.

I am sick and tired of trying to find shops that even stock size 28 jeans - it's sizeist if you ask me!

So, whilst I know some may be screaming at the sight of another thread on Dior I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if they know of anywhere.

New York would be good too as a friend is going over there in December...

    Thanks for any help.

  4. No no - not worried about looking gay! Just interested to know if anyone had any cool stuff they'd seen that would go well with skinny jeans. Fitted shirts are great but harder to come by than you might think. I don't want anything with rips and patches and logos - just plain and well fitted.

    Ho hum...

  5. Yes I know - there are copious threads about Dior jeans/skinny jeans etc etc but I would like to know what you guys and gairls wear with skinny jeans rather than about the jeans themselves.

I have just invested in a new pair of Dior jeans and I love 'em but you can't wear the tops and shirts that you might wear with a more relaxed fitting jean - unless you want to look like an inverted pear.

So, what do you wear with 'em? Skinny shirts? If so - by who? Skinny tops - a bit gay no? Skinny t-shirts - fine fine but it's winter soon.

Ignore shoes - we all know that converse etc etc are best to shuffle about in but it's the top half that interests me.

Or is this the dullest topic in the world. Not sure really...

Oh god - I have only just joined the forum and my 1st post was about Dior jeans and also skull rings - so I guess the juxtaposition of Dior jeans with rings means that I am totally gay. Damn.

I think, if I might say this, Denimhead-man or whatever your full profile name is, that people are getting slightly irate at your posts because:

    a) they come across as very aggressive

    B) you're contributing to a shopping forum (and you talk about people's sexuality?!?!)

    c) you're contibuting to a forum renowned for its' jeans knowledge

    d) you're making snap judgements

    e) you're right - we're talking about motherfuckin' jeans but you're the one getting more riled up about that fact that anyone else here it seems

    f) If you think talkin' about them is so ludicrous - then stop taling about them and shut up! But with a name like Denimhead-whatever I am assuming you're quite fond of the old denim weave...

    g) it's that aggression thing again

Just for the record, I don't give a damn whether people think I'm gay or not - who gives a shit. Do I think talking about shopping on a forum is slightly feminine not to mention worrying about how clothes fit? Yep, probably. But do I enjoy it? Am I interested in it and hearing other's opinions? Well - d'uh! Yes of course - that's why I signed up to a forum like this one...

Just for the record - I am hetero and I care about my clothes and like to look like I've made an effort. I enjoy hearing people's thoughts and opinions and hope that I can call upon those who are keen to share their knowledge here on this board and I hope that I too can share my opinions and help others in return. That's why I joined.

I hope I won't make offensive and snap judgements because people spend a certain proportion of their income on a pair of jeans. Or watches or underpants or socks or shoes or wallpaper or whatever else they want to spend their hard earned money on. I wear a Rolex Explorer II watch - does that make me gay as well?

I know people who would think me mad for spending £250 on a pair of Dior Homme jeans - both straight, gay and sideways but you know what - I don't care! Yes, it's a lot of money and there are times when I think - ooops what have I done - as i don't earn a fortune but I like how they fit and they make me feel good when I wear them. That's what's important. And you know, there are friends of mine out there who might think me mad but they spend their money on things that I wouldn't even think of buying - like drugs for instance... Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I think the saying is...

    Just my thoughts

  8. Help! I am not sure what to do here. Bought some black Dior Homme jeans from Dior in Harrods. Know they're meant to be worn long but these babies were just too long (I am normally a 32" leg) and so Harrods offered to hem them retaining the original hem. Okey dokey I thought - why not. It's Harrods so the tailors should know what they're doing. However, whilst now I've got them back the length is just right and long enough to wear 'em as they should be the actual hem looks pretty shoddy. It's not sewn on straight for one thing and is so thick at the sides where the seams meet that it just feels strange. Now, when the jeans are on you couldn't tell but I still feel peeved as the jeans cost a lot of money - should I complain and take 'em back or just swallow it?

Any thoughts on who else I could take my jeans to to get hemmed in the future?

    Thanks

  9. Wow! Thanks guys! You have been really helpful. Those driftwood skulls are amazing! I have checked on the site but can't seem to find a way to order one (or am I just being thick?!)

Thanks for pointing them all out. I like the Japanese one too.

Any more ideas? This is great!

  10. I know how hard it can be - I am a bit of a jeans addict myself although I don't have a thing about selvedge or the loom used or the stitching - although it's very interesting to learn about all these things here as it does help to point you in the right direction but for me, it's all about the fit.

I would suggest you look at nudie jeans - their regular ralf fits your requirements perfectly.

PRPS are lovely but I personally don't like all the rips and tears they put on but I like their details such as the rivets and colours of the fly buttons.

Also, you can't go far wrong with Diesel you know. Some are a bit snobby about Diesel but I have several pairs and still like the fit.

I have just bought some Dior Homme black jeans, I almost cried at the price, but boy do they fit good. Not as tight as some skinny jeans and I know there're cheaper out there but none had the same fit and detail as the Dior Homme - the Levis had funny rips in them and copper coloured rivets and silver buttons and the acne just didn't fit as well. The Dior Homme are all black - rivets, buttons - the lot and I like that! Well, I should do as I just paid out £250 for 'em.

But I digress - you're not after skinny so go for nudie or Diesel that's my advice.

  11. Thanks, guys.

Some really good advice. The ring is £97 so quite a lot but nowhere near hundreds and hundreds. I think I might take the plunge - pretty sure I can carry it off and won't wear it every day but think it makes a nice contrast.

Thank you though for all your positive replies - I really appreciate it.

    Best wishes

  12. Hello

I have lurked here for a while now and have found many of the posts supremely entertaining and very handy. I thought I should take the plunge and register as I have a sartorial dilemma.

Recently bought a pair of Dior Homme Black Jeans - very cool and very pleased with them. I hate to admit that I was at a fashion shoot recently at London Fashion Week and saw some guys on the catwalk wearing skinny black jeans and sporting a silver skull ring on their hand. Now I have always thought skull rings may be a bit passe but actually it was a brilliant look.

Now, I'm onbviously quite slim hence the jeans and can carry the hip rock look (god that sounds awful) but was wondering what your thoughts on sporting a skull ring are? The one I have seen is made by Crazy Pig in London and it's pretty damn nice but there is a lingering concern that it might be a bit naff.

    You can see it here:

    http://www.sexydynamitelondon.com/uk/cpd.html

It's not as big as it looks (it's called the 'Evil Skull Ring'(!?!?!)) and is not over-sized. So with a black pair of skinny jeans, black boots and a suitable top does anyone have any opinions?

    Thanks!
