Hello,
I need some urgent help on Alden sizing. Have done a search but can’t find the exact info I need so my apologies if this has been dealt with before. I am about to drop $800 on a pair of Alden Cordovan AF79’s on the Barrie last in a size 6D. However, because I live in the UK I cannot try them on! I have a pair of Alden Cordovan Cap Toe boots on the Modified last in a 6D and they fit me perfectly. Does anyone know if a 6D in the Barrie will also fit well? I keep hearing conflicting accounts – that the Barrie is smaller and tighter than the Modified.
As there is a no returns policy on the AF79 I’d be ever so grateful for any help and advice.
Thank you ever so

Desperately looking for a pair of alden boots in a size 6. but where are all the size 6's?! what i really, really want is a pair of alden cordovan boots (preferably wing tip) in that size. but almost nobody has a size 6 - it's ludicrous. not even santa could help.
so - if anyone know of anywhere in the world that sells alden boots in a size 6 (us size) i would be very grateful.
I have tried:
unionmade
alden of carmel
alden shop nyc
alden shop sf
browns
leather soul
j gilbert
tres bien
leffot
anatomica
moulded sole
enselow
epaulet
j crew (won't ship to london and don't have a 6)
the shoe mart
pelle line
margaret howell
modified last would be good but to be honest - anything in a size 6 would be welcome. it seems bonkers that nowhere sells these...

Hello
Hope am ok to post this but have just listed a pair of Dior Homme Silver Selvedge jeans on ebay. They are from a few seasons ago when Hedi Slimane was still creative director and are amazing! Made in Japan. Silver Selvedge dry denim. Never worn. Never washed. Never altered. And impossible to get hold of I think now. Oh and they're a size 28.
Take a peek as they need to go!

Err...I love it not sure I want to sell it yet - haven't even worn it. Just those sleeves...
Size 46 - would that fit if I do sell it?

Hey all
Have done a search but can't find anything on this and thought this would certainly be the place to ask. Bought a gorgeous Martin Margiela jacket this week - two button, grey. Fits perfectly apart from the sleeve length - which is very long and comes almost to my thumb knuckle on both sleeves. Now the Martin Margiela boutique said that this is how Margiela jackets are meant to be but now I'm home I'm not so sure it looks right. But i don't want to get the jacket altered at the shoulder to shorten the sleeve as have had this done before and it's ruined the fit on the shoulder. The button details mean that taking up from the cuff is a no no.
So my question is (know it's hard without pics) has anyone else been told that Margiela jackets should be worn with the sleeves slightly longer (i.e. to the knuckle) and will the cuffs wear and fray quicker as they are worn so low?
Anyone have any thoughts on wearing jackets of this type (i.e smart/two button) with a longer than normal sleeve? Looks a bit like this guy's sleeve length (but only the sleeve length the jacket style is different): http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2006/10/at-martin-margiela_03.html
Thoughts? Wear? Fit?
And if consensus is it looks a bit shit - anyone know of a brilliant tailor in London you can hook me up with?!
Thanks all

yes im looking forward to having them.. should i go as tight as i can??Buy them so they fit. Not so you can't do the buttons up. Just so they are snug. Size down one maybe two at the most.

Fit pic as of 10/2/2009.New Cures in size 29. Started wearing them on 6/21/09 but due to summer heat I wasn't wearing them every day. I'd say there's a good month and a half of wear on them.
Jesus christ - what happened to the ass?!?! Did you buy these super tight?!

if that's only 10 minutes of wear, then you'll be fine. my 29 ns were near impossible to achieve the top button initially, and now they're 34" in the waist (i'm a 32). when you think they'll stop stretching, they'll go on and stretch some more.I think you should go back up a size - I don't understand how everyone here says that APC's stretch like a bastard because I've been wearing mine every day for 6 weeks and they haven't stretched much at all. And I mean at all. And when you wash 'em they're gonna go right back to your not being able to button them up again. Yes - buy 'em tight because they're going to give a little but so tight you can't do them up?! My experience has been that's a no no. Just my 2 cents and I know differing advice from almost everyone else on this thread but there we are. You gotta be comfortable in the jeans for gawd's sake!

I would be wary of sizing down too far - there's quite a few male cameltoe pictures on this thread. I am a 28 in Dior Homme jeans and a 27 in APC NS. Also, yes of course they'll stretch with wear just like any jeans but the minute you wash them they'll shrink back to pretty much the tag size (or how they fit when you bought them) so I would size down one for a good fit, 2 for a pretty damn tight fit and 3 for a nice cameltoe fit... (I couldn't even do the top button up on sizing down two btw)

Hey there
Am selling my very much loved Rolex Explorer II - it's a couple of years old but in beautiful condition. I have all the papers and the box and receipt. Am sure everyone says this but it's totally legit and I'd rather sell to a buyer in London who can collect the watch. Am happy to post photos too but wanted to post this and see if there was any interest at all before I go to a 2nd hand watch dealer in town. Am based in London and can meet centrally.
Am not selling this on ebay as tired of timewasters so do let me know if you're genuinely interested.
Thinking that £2,000 is a fair price as it's £3,250 new.
Get in touch if you'd like to know more

Hey guys does anybody know what would happen if I would do a hot wash on a pair of Diors RAW indigo denim 95°C? Will they shrink a lot?
Yes they will. In my experience Dior raws shrink more than you'd think. This might be ok in the waist and thighs for some as with wear they'll stretch but that's not the case with the length! I had my raws hemmed to at least an inch longer than I wear my other washed pairs of Dior Homme and after washing the raws in a 40 degree wash they've actually come out shorter so have shrunk length wise by over an inch...
Loving the redux thread but isn't it being 'policed' a little strictly? I've already had a post deleted for some reason and the joy of this forum is the ease with which everyone can voice things. Wouldn't want to lose that but also understand the need to try and control the 'should I buy this size' posts...

Opinions needed!... I've been lurking around here for a minute and decided to start posting. These MII dauphin 21cm's feel big on me, but it's kind of a mix up from my slimer cut IH's or Sammies. I haven't washed them yet, and I'm wondering if a hot wash or soak would do any thing? What do you think overall? Thanks in advance!
Hi
I honestly think these are too big - especially in the crotch area. And they're too long as well. I have never understood the fashion for wearing jeans that stack up almost to the knee. Just looks like they're too long if you ask me. You don't want ankle-biters that's for sure but too much stacking just looks like you've bought a pair of jeans that don't fit. But then what do I know - some people in London think it's cool to wear jeans that come up to the middle of their arse crack and to me any kind of crack you don't smoke shouldn't really be on view thanks very much.

it's pretty good, but that duckhead is alittle big..
Sorry I don't like this either but then I can't bear backpacks. But I guess as backpacks go it's ok - nice colour for sure.

this pair is new without any reviews online.

anyone? =P
My vote is NO. They look like shoes my grandpa would wear. Retirement shoes...
Sorry - don't like those at all

Hey there
Not sure whether to buy this - have only recently bought a down jacket but only have the one. Saw this on sale - 40% off and really liked it. But does one need two puffa/down jackets? Probably not. Anyone got any opinions? What do you think?

Hey there
Will try to post pics of me in it but I hate having my photo taken and haven't got a set up where I can take one of myself.
Glad you guys like it though!
Also, Goldengloves - I called the comme des garcon shop in London (Dover Street Market) whilst I was looking for the above (they had sold out) but they were really helpful and told me that they had 2 of the leather jackets from the collection. They have 40% off at the moment so it might be worth giving them a call if you really did want one of the leathers or alternatively contact Parachutes who is a brilliant proxy buyer on this site for Japanese stuff. If you call Dover Street Market I would call them no later than Saturday as I think at 40% off they'll go pretty quick. You can find the contact details here:

Just got this Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons jacket which I've been after for ages. I am thrilled with it - it's Nylon/Cotton mix so good for Spring too.
I love it. Fits perfectly. Am really chuffed - the attention to detail on the jacket is fantastic.
I think his AW07 season was the best yet.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Parachutes (Hajime) because he has been absolutely brilliant in helping me to locate a jacket that I really wanted. I had never thought of using a proxy buyer until I stumbled across this thread and was searching ebay for days so it was a real godsend to find the service.
I'm seriously impressed - he's been incredibly helpful and quick to respond.
I would recommend anyone thinking of using a proxy to give him a shout.
