  1. Interesting, Alex, I wore mine for one day in the dry (and rather scratchy) state, and did not notice any dry bleeding. And I was totally amazed by the lack af any bleeding at all during the soak, the water stayed crystal-clear, without any hint of a tint. did you make the same experience. Did you just soak the jeans or did you wear them while soaking, like I did?

  2. Gosh, you bust be a big Swede..... mine are a 30 ! I am a slim sort of guy, and I like my jeans tight (you've seen fit pics). But 36 is really big. You're not eating too much smorgasbord, are you?

  3. Tack (!) Alex. Nice start. Yours do have what I call "micro fadings", some even already stronger than on mine, although mine are worn considerably longer (2,5 months, daily with perhaps two exceptions only).

Keep rocking them. Aren't they great jeans? What size have you got?

    "Tschüss" from Berlin.

  4. Like the previous posters, I am really sorry to read about your trials and tribulations, Gun. Surely the money invested in the Union machines is not really lost? You "only" have to find the right operators, then they will be a strong asset.

You have established a strong following here, of some denim dudes who are convinced by what you do and believe in your product. I am glad I am one of them.

I guess every start-up has some setbacks and some expense that goes down the drain with it. Don't be discouraged and keep it up, and also don't worry too much about the timing of the second product, the straight jeans. I really do gather from the other posts that people totally understand.

  5. Nice. Like his fit, and I'd say his fading/development is about on par with mine.

It's an established truth by now that these are VERY hard to fade, it's a slow development with a promise far in the future, but then hopefully spectacular.

  6. *Grin* I'll work on my (non-existent) Swedish. Tack - as I now know it's written, I'll remember from one of my all time favourite movies, Murder on the Orient Express, where the great Ingrid Bergman -in her Oscar-winning role as "Froken Olsson" -pardon any misspellings, please- is greeted this way.

  7. Tak Alex! Thanks for your quick reply. So we have one artistdenim in Sweden, one in Germany. I'll ask Gun about any other "European editions".... and I totally agree, Gun is pure pleasure to deal with, real nice, dedicated guy.

  8. Hey guys-thanks for the comments!

Max: I ALWAYS stay true to my signature....and I'm delighted about your comment.

Gun: yeah, I hope (and trust) they'll develop just sensationally. I do like wearing them a lot, and love their feel especially. I've worn them every single day since I received them, with one sole exception. I will keep on like this until the end of March!!!

Swede Alex: are you Swedish? Just asking since I'm curious about how exclusive it is to wear an artistdenim in Europe, Gun told me most of what he sold so far were shipped to Asia and America.

  9. I've been away for a week in the sun, and treated the jeans to some serious warmth, sand, the odd splash of Atlantic salt water. Some first fading is, at long last, visible, so you get a pic update, the one with me wearing them giving you a faint idea (really the faintest, I do know, but imagine a surface like the one visible here going on for as far as you can see, in every direction) about the desert-like areas I took the jeans through. Rather an experience, to be the lone human for miles, within all that sand and all those rocks.

  10. Thanks a lot, lake! Naturally, you will want to repair that one place at the very "crossroads" of the crotch, but apart from that, I now even stronger favor to wear them ripped as they are. You'll get many envious glances from true denim heads.

  11. Gun, you should move those back pockets inward alil on both the straight & regular cuts. It will look better.

I second that! I'd move them somewhat inward and just a very tiny bit further down.

  12. Well, Gun, as always, thanks for your reply. I am a little relieved, actually, that yours don't look much different than mine after two months wear, we must be pretty much exactly at the same point of our "project".

  13. The bottom two pics are really awesome, are these models? The one with the lighthouse might well have been done by a pro photographer, also. And the other guy actually has some fades on his jeans, -the back pockets, at least, - something I'm close to give up on with my "artists".

  14. I think the denim looks fabulous. Only it seems really to be a bitch to fade.....

Just got my swatch card in the mail, thanks a lot Gun. I feel like im one of the last to receive a swatch The denim is very interesting, I have never worn unsanforized denim, so inspecting the denim is a very new experience. The weave and weft are very irregular. It is very streaky because it is hand dyed. It is also very hairy. My biggest worry was that the denim would be too light for me and i actually really like the color.

Thanks a lot gun, can't wait for the new fits so i can buy a pair.

  15. Really? How do you do that? I wear mine now for about a month and a half, daily!!!!!, and there is no trace of evo whatsoever.

Naturally many here will be interested in your pics, especially if there is so much development.

Hey Gun, thos stright cuts seem awesome!

I got a ? for you all looking into this thread. I just got my Artis Denims and I did a hot soak a couple of days ago. So now I´m going to wear and tear these bad boys everyday. Are you interested in evopics quite often, to see how these progress? I find them making great evo progress already and I think these will be sick within months...

  16. Dear Gun-I'm really sorry to read that you feel taken advantage of. It happens, inevitably.

My suggestion: keep offering your swatch cards, but at cost, calculate everything, the fabric, envelope, label, postage, and round it up to the next full amount. I am certain seriously interested people will gladly pay what will still be a very modest amount, and then they can have the added benefit of having a high quality piece of denim for whatever purpose.

To answer your question: I am moderately busy, just normal. I wear my artists faithfully every day.

Your opinion on the fading question would interest me: I've seen both views here: not wash for as long as possible (my instinct as well), which would probably mean a single hot wash at the very end of the competition period. Or on the contrary, wash often to speed up a general vintage look, if not so much strong contrast by individual abrasion. What's your take on this?

Best from Berlin - and don't let your mood be too much affected by some people not acting decently regarding your generosity!

  17. Welcome to the club, Alex....I believe we are among the very few who wear an artistdenim in Europe, as I understand most so far were delivered to Asia and America.

Enjoy the rough feel, it will go away soon enough....

  18. So here's my wear update. Bit more than a full month of faithful daily wear. They've become much more relaxed around the crotch than expected, the legs are as tight as they always were. No fade worth mentioning, only in a specific light (that I doubt I can reproduce with a digi-pic) can I guess where just possibly nice leg fades may some day develop.

I am pondering whether to soak again or not. Pro: might get them tighter on my butt. Con: would not the fade be harmed by a second encounter with water? Any input is welcome.
