  1. Hi, I'm new to this thread. With my "standard jeans" -non LVC 501, pre-washed Nudies- I wait till 5 of them are ready for a wash, throw them into the machine (European type, front loader), am creative with the temperature (40 to 60 degrees, depending on degree of dirt and wish for shrinkage), use an eco-friendly detergent that Kuyichi jeans were good enough to supply me with (I got a few pouches from them, and use them for two washes although they are intended for just one) and let them hang dry after the spin. They get turned inside out but not buttoned for this procedure.

I am very keen on trying beetle's method, looks to me as cool as it gets, and a very, VERY sensual denim experience also. Of course then with drying the jeans on the body as well. Will have to deliberate the pair that gets to inaugurate this method with me.

  2. Jeans look great, grouse. Not to be too picky, but if you could improve the lighting somehow, we could admire the structure of the denim even better. As is, they can be seen only as one dark blue mass.

With the cautionary comment that here speaks a believer in tight denim, I think you are absolutely fine with the room that is seen here. If you do the bathtub ritual, I see no danger...but the potential for a real great fit.

  3. Yes, I went true to size indeed. It was a period not totally free of anxiousness waiting for them (my first experience with Sugar Cane), but the measurements provided were detailed and everything worked out excellently.

Thx, chambo. I consider it a great compliment then. Hers (!) fit great.

And grouse, good luck! Let us know how they fit, even if you can't post pics soon.

  4. @Baeyer-Drewson (I wonder what the history of your username is...) The stretch will come, wanted or not. And sorry, I think the association tight/gay scene is such an old hat. Outdated. Besides, I welcome appreciation and have no prejudices!

@chambo2008: I will have to research kino's 660 fit. Never saw a post of his so far (as you can see from my low post number and modest rep, I lurk here often and only post when I see the point...). Perhaps you could just guide me to the thread where it is posted? Thx!

  5. @grouse allergy: They are a size 30. I bought them from another superfuture member, they had undergone a full cold soak and a partial hot soak and were worn, so he explained, no more than five days. I would not have bought a different size!

@ph1l: Respectfully disagree. They are too long for stacking (for my taste) and I guiltily admit I like to display the selvage....

@WillKhitie: many thanks for the kudos. I, too, love their fit. Jeans, for me, are very much about the feel and not just the look. And these feel incredibly. I only hope they won't stretch as dramatically as you describe it with yours. I guess in such a case my only counterthreat would be a really hot wash....

  6. So, we have the first small rip, at one of the usual places....

This is how it looks when wearing the jeans.

And here I have the jeans in my hand, indicating the problem spot with my finger from the inside:

Finally, a view from the inside:

386 seems to be incommunicado these days (we want to decide about matters like repair -if, how, when- mutually), so here's your chance to weigh in.

Jeans got a fair amount of moisture today and the day before, we have p l e n t y of rain right now.

  7. @Turntabloid: yeah, that would be quite something. But, considering the size of Berlin and the fact that the jeans are rather inconspicuous (worn in daily life...), I'd say hugely unlikely.

@all: Computer crash seems to be sorted, if all is well, pic post coming up later this night. Stand by!

  8. Hello readers of this thread.

My last entry in the "me in semi-formal attire" category caused some discussion, here now comes the announced continuation. I wear, as I do every single day, our project jeans, tonight doing so with my blue double-breasted blazer. Possibly the critics of its grey predecessor may like it better (I hope). The single breasted version will be shown here on the next occasion.

I had a grand evening, the occasion prompting me to don a dress shirt and tie being held at the "House of the Cultures of the World", a location I love. Many Berliners still refer to the exceptional building as the "Hall of Congress" as which it was built back in the Fifties, a gift of the USA to Berlin. It's present purpose was assigned to the house much later.

For the interested, here's a link to the house's website in English:

    http://www.hkw.de/en/hkw/selbstdarstellung/anfang.php

After speeches in the auditorium, I sat, dining, on the terrace at the back, where one gazes at a beautiful Berlin cityscape, the river Spree with boats gliding by, joggers on the pathway on both sides of the shore, trains a little further in the background, and some of the rather new and glitzy government buildings visible. It was a balmy evening after a thunderstorm, the conversation was good, so was the food and wine (I do recommend German wines to those of you not familiar with it, we had a grey burgundy from the Palatinate region and a "Dornfelder" as its red companion), and I had a real rush of love of living here.

Tomorrow it will be back to life's harsher realities, the jeans being accompanied by a tee or longsleeve, the wearer back at his parttime work, with water from the coolers being the drink of choice.

I appreciate everyone's patience with this lengthy entry, I sort of wanted to share the feel of the moment with you.

    Here's the pics:

    C ya, guys.

  9. Yup, these are 50/50 cotton/sugarcane fiber..

There has never been a slim Oki...

Got mine today, purchase from another sufu member. Question: both the inner label (well hidden in the right bright yellow pocket lining) and the cardboard attachment say: 100% cotton. Should it not be 50% cotton, 50% sugar cane fibre???? Plus the cardboard claims "woven in Japan", the inner label "Made in USA". Meaning woven in Japan, sewn in the U.S.) Or....???? Can you, Kiya, or naturally anybody else, please explain? I'm confused!

  10. Hey, an entry from the original seller. Great, many thanks. Yes, they are indeed evolving very nicely (though I hope to keep any repairs at bay, my credo is, keep 'em wearing ripped -to which there are obvious limits depending on exactly WHERE a rip develops... *sick grin*). If they have been too short for you, you must be really tall. Like 1,90 m or so? More?

Will try to post the next pic here soon, not sure I'll be able today, if so, consider it a "teaser" to keep the suspense up....

  11. I appreciate the effort and documentation, beatle! The jacket on the left seems to me TOO small, I don't think it would look good buttoned. The one on the right I quite like.

Now, comments on the jeans ---our central subject matter here--- are welcome and encouraged.....

  12. No stories to tell today (just a long day of work), I'll just show you my outfit, our jeans (what else), my Lee 101J, and the tee below is a rather special one, an LVC with a Rick Griffin cartoon on it, in an oh-so-subtle blue. And no, I don't sit like that all the time, but thought I'll give you a different perspective on the jeans. They've adapted to me in size just a bit, they are now less tight in the "lower butt-upper thigh" area.

  13. Hey, thanks for all the feedback. Seems I have to rethink that grey jacket...hmmm. I have a blue blazer (also double-breasted) that I wear for the semi-formal look as well, I'll show you all this outfit on the next occasion.

The jeans are denim heaven, denim porn!!! Only I don't think there's much of a chance to still get them (@Ark Sakura), I believe they are sold out and are not available from the maker Studio d'Artisan anymore either.

  14. So tonight the jeans got to watch the Eurovision Song Contest (they allowed me to come along...). A mixed bag, some weird numbers, a guy from Norway whose smile apparently almost everyone found irresistible - I can't recall such a suspense-free voting as it was tonight with Norway winning it by a huge landslide - and the best song as far as I'm concerned, the beautiful, dramatic chanson from France, never stood a chance to win, but made a very honourable place in the upper middle field. About the result for Germany's entry there will be tactful silence here.

Now I have to think of something to entertain the denims on Sunday...
