  1. Oh well. It lets me shuttle my money around for something else until August. Doesn't matter how much action is happening on the Dubbleworks thread, even with the pre-order, (it looks like) the jeans themselves won't be available until Januray 2008. I'm still in for the most part, depending on cut now, I guess (was it the redline cone denim the majoirty decided on?)

yes im going to be doing the redline cone. its 15 oz.

  2. not to hate, but this project always seemed a bit flaky to me.....more of a cry for attention than anything else

youre entitled to your opinion. im actually trying to get shit done with this though. i dont know if you realize how much work something like this actually is. it doesnt just happen right away. in my original post i made it clear that it was very well possible that i wouldnt have everything done before i leave.

  3. talked to my pattern maker today and im getting the pattern for the jeans in all sizes between 26 and 36. not sure if im going to use all of them but well see. hopefully i should have these in hand and sent to the full service facility by sometime next week. im going to do my best to get the sample made as soon as possible but it probably wont get to my house until after i have already left.

  4. also...

    -no croth rivet.

-copper or silver hardware depending on price because were trying to keep this low. gun metal and all that would bump us up too much i think (ill still check)

-i think something super subtle on the back pocket as far as stiching goes will be good.

-green patterned pocket bags sounds good. not sure what pattterns i can get though.

  5. so i talked to wayne and he has to get back to me on a final word but he seems to not want to use the cloth tab if the superfuture name is on the jeans and i think that is fine. hes obviously very well justified. i thought it was a bad idea before i ever asked him. hopefully ill be able to get in touch with him asap and well get the go ahead to use the superfuture name.

also... im going to be gone next week so im not sure how this is all going to work out. im going to go ahead and say the samples and stuff will probably have to be done when i get back from tour :( . im gone all of july and most of august. i wont be getting back til august 20 something.

  6. HEYYYY

sorry ive been tied up recordingggg and doing stupid shit. ive basically been busy with nonsense.

martin i appreciate the help but i would rather not go through an agent and i would aslp rather not make more than are ordered because it wont be as special. i know what im doing and im pretty set on made in the usa because even though i can get better deals and whatnot elsewhere, i still find made in us goods better than other places and international shipping is a bitch. especially when i have to source all of the fabrics and tags and patches, etc to the full service facility myself.

this is what im set on so far...

redline 15 oz fabric from cone

dior 21 oz cut, slightly modded.

    painted green tag

superfuture tag inside (still havent got word from wayne so this isnt 100%)

leather patch with jeans pulling apart a person

    blue and black stitching

    green pocketbags

    green halflined back pockets

not sure about rivets or back pocket stitching yet

still accepting ideas for other details.

gotta run. ill pop back on tomorrow. im gonna send out an email to my service facility manager tonightttt.

  7. I've already PM'd my response. I'm in. But you HAVE to have a tab. Seriously. The reason why the dubbleworks one can't have a tab is that the jeans are made in collaboration with an established store and an established company. Business that Levis can sue. What we've got here is basically someone making jeans, at cost, for his friends. You're not going to make a 1000 pair run and start selling them in stores for profit. This is just for fun amongst other forum members. If you fear Big Brother Levis to the point where we can't even have a little green sufu pocket tab on something like this, then Levis has truly won in intimidating its competition. There are shades of Disney and Edison in there, and you know what happened to them. At the very least, you could have the tabs made up and sent out as "button tags" for a spare button so that we could get them put on ourselves.
Its true that Levis would have almost nothing to gain by suing a small time enthusiast endeavor, and surely alienate all of us, but it is not our risk. If adsurgo is going to make/sell the jeans he would have sole responsibility for any legal action which could jeopardize future business plans. It is much easier to say 'do it' when it can't burn you.

I do think that including an unattached tab would avoid this problem nicely.

most of what im worried about is if i have the superfuture name on it. waynes deal isnt mine. i dont own superfuture. if he allows me to put his companys name on the denim then its going to be his decision for the tabs. cali isnt off though either. it still scares me personally.

sending non attached tabs seems like a good idea.

  8. It'd be a good idea to get a list of those that are down for the project. Count me in as one.

I've been looking for something slimmer than my LVC 47s so I'll vote for the 21cm cut. Not too particular about the denim, but I wouldn't mind seeing the streaky black selvage.

put me in the list also. i favour the skull 5010 cut.

i already made a post saying that whoever is in needs to pm me.

  9. i can't be in this and the dubbleworks

i dont understand? see above post.

I think it will be some time before this starts, right, adsurgo ?

yeahhh. these should be getting out to people in a few months.

  10. if the jeans are 32w or bigger, i'll gladly volunteer. I live in so cal and can take them to a lot of places, disneyland, mexico, vegas, and LA.

this isnt a world tour like the other projects. this is me selling a ton of jeans that arent made by a certain company, just the superfuture people. no contests, no sharing jeans and displaying them, just buying a pair of jeans to have.

  11. That's cool. You probable have quite the collection of pics. If you ever run into the picture that has all three jeans, please let me know. thanks.

i gave a ton of pics to the guy who did www.rawselvedge.com . is the picture on there? if not then i can look for it in my folders at home.

  12. need to see the new samples you are getting from the japanese mills I guess?

i have to figure out what im using for my own thing first. thats why in the original post i said if we can decide on details of the denim i can just look for a specific kind through the mills without showing everyone everything that i see.

  13. you might want to add 38¨ waist in your sizing chart. There is some 38 around here and im sure they had be down with a pair.

ill see how many order i get of what and i guess ill figure out the sizing by that.

  14. ehh wayne isn't making the jeans. if you hijack both symbols, it's your deal, and if you're okay with it, i think we're probably okay with it. but if that sorta thing freaks you out, then i'd shy away...

a thing to keep in mind is this isn't exactly an item "for sale"... rather, I believe we're doing this all at cost, right? anyone can record a cover of a song, but they can't sell it without permission.

yeah but still. copyrites and all that shit is a really fine line between ok and not ok.

  15. What's the possibility to have custom inseam lengths in the way Ande handled them?

Would seriously suck a dick (or two) for a 38" inseam, and if it's a straightleg then people can hem to whatever length without worrying about keeping a tapered opening intact.

ill see what i can do but i doubt this is going to be very possible. ill see what happens. im not going to be able to do all 36s and one 38 and i think 38s for all would just end up being a hassle. if everyone is ok with hemming their jeans then its cool.

i dunno if all-over green stitching would look good... maybe just in some places, like around the back pockets?

and have we came up with a back pocket stitch idea?

and i could hold off on buying jeans till about august but i feel my SJs are gonna fall apart by then and i'm gonna need a new pair, whens a timeframe this procedure could be wrapped up by and have some end-goods being shipped

yeah im not feeling all over green stitching. maybe white with green at hems, coin pocket, and button holes?

wow this sounds really interesting, is this aviable for us canadians aswell? :)

its available for anyone in the world!

I dunno 'bout having "sufu" jeans have Levi style arcuates. Sure they're classic and all, but I'd rather have an arcuate that's different, but still minimalistic than something I've seen a lot.

'sides that, I'm pretty much in agreement with what everyones suggested.

yeah and actually now that i think about it... im not going to put anything sketchy with levis since the superfuture logo might end up being on the jeans. thatll fuck up wayne. so no cloth tabs i guess.

  16. I'd definitely like to be in on this, if possible. I'm down with everything suggested - silver rivets, SuFu fabric tab, interesting back belt loop, and a dior 21 or slimmer cut. The thing is, I'm not sure anyone has any idea what the fading properties of the blackline denim is. It was my impression that other streaky jeans like the Straight Sven Flame denim had a pretty lackluster fade? But of course this is probably completely different.

check out ande whalls streaky denim after a few months. theres pictures on here somewhere. they look insanely good.

when I get home ill find te pics and post them.

  17. As this is shaping up to be the first branded superfuture pair of jeans, I think Chad and Wayne should have some input here, as it is there logo etc.

I was planning on asking chad this morning because I was supposed to be with him all day but some things came up and I've been busy and running around. I actually texted him about 20 minutes ago asking him if he could check with wayne. if its not approved... we really don't have to use the logo.

  18. I'm definitely a 31. A 30 and 32 would probably make me unable to buy them as 32s are usually too big after stretching and 30s are always too tight. I'm definitely hoping for 31s. I don't know why there would be 27 and 29s but not 31s.

Are we going to have to pre-pay before these are even made and a sample with measurements(so we know if we need to size up or down) are made or will the sample be made with measurements and then you'll start taking mass orders with payment(50 or 100 at a time) and then ship them out.

after I make a sample pair and post pictures I will post themeasurements on the patterns and people will order then.

  19. I would go smaller, if these stretch out + superfuture users are tiny.

26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 34, 36 sound better? more different sizes means more patterns and more money. but a few dollars for every pair probably won't be bad.

everyone that has objections to these sizes please speak up. I know there are some 31 and 33s on here.
