  1. Anyone know any jeans in particular that have a slim leg but a longer yoke, maybe something similar to the Julian Red Detroits......I have Slim Jims and Acne Maxes, but neither of them are really what I am looking for. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Quote: FRED PERRY is not popular or expensive enough to warrant making fakes

Spoken like a true idiot.............firstly, Fred Perry is extremely popular in the U.K. and Ireland in particular, and also sells fairly well here in the U.S. as well.......as far as fakes go, I have seen them everywhere from Malaysia and Thailand or E-bay to the local Pasadena swap meet..........I would imagine that the bag is real, but with Fred Perry not having any significant branding.marking on alot of stuff, it is very hard to tell.

  4. I saw alot of crazy belts with chains, ropes, etc. hanging off them when I was in Japan, as well as belts made of rope and everything in between. I didn't feel the need to buy one when I was there but kind of regret not getting one.........anyone know any sites/brands/stores that carry them? Have any pics?

And no.....I don't care if they are played.....I like them..........

  5. Quote: england, since you mentioned you're skilled in jewelry crafting, wouldn't these be pretty simple to make?

I have made brooches/pins before, but:

a.) I figured someone might know where to get them cheap online

b.) I suck at painting and would rather use my time elsewhere

Quote: Anyway, another thread declared shield/coat of arms imagery to be played, so just forget it

Dude, I appreciate your advice but are you nuts? I don't give a flying fuck if if the "fashion" community thinks they are played, I like them, what the hell else matters? And about heraldry, etc. People on here are not idiots, I think we all know the cultural significance of a shield/coat of arms.....I didn't ask what they were, I asked where to find pins of them.

As far as the e-bay comment..........well let's just say.........I am perfectly capable of typing "Dior Pin" into a search bar........my question involved where I could find a cheap substitute....... Like I said, it doesnt have to be a frigging shield.....it could be a star, or circle, or triangle it doesn't matter..........

I don't mean to come off as a dick but seriously.............

  6. I remember that I first saw these DH pins a few years ago (maybe 2 or 3?). I am trying to find something similar to them. Simple pins in different shape (stars, shields, anything) and haven't had luck with the pins at military surplus stores....... anyone have any recommendations? These are the Dior ones:

  7. I worked in Nike's showroom in L.A. Basically you are going to want to get in touch with the company's entertainment marketing branch. I am sure they will give you the number if you call corporate. As far as getting in, you either have to own a store that they are interested in working for, be a celebrity, or work in entertainment...........not quite sure what you are trying to ask though? What is the reason that you want to "get into the showroom"??

  8. Depends what you are talking about.........Milkcrate released a line of shirts/hoodies with B.I.G. on the front in a mugshot wearing a crown that said "King of New York" under it......there is also one of those fucking gay "we make t-shirts with retarded logos on them and consider ourselves an influential streetwear brand" brands called J-Money I think?? And they have a logo that has a logo of a crown and follows with "of NY" I think you can get that garbage on the retail mafia site...............

Either way, Niketalk will know best. King of NY.............icon_smile_dissapprove.gif

  9. Quote: so I would have 150K total

You would have to submit a phenomenal business plan to get a loan like that from the small business bureau here in the U.S. and quite a bit of collateral...........either way, artificialsky is correct in stating that you will not be able to get accounts with the majority of your listed brands. I had a similar idea regarding a "streetwear" shop in Europe, but after doing interviews with Eddie Cruz (who owns UNDFTD/Union), Dominick from Brooklyn Projects, and several other store owners, I have, for the most part, decided against it. Most of these guys are paying off huge debts and have been for a long time..........i.e. several years and absolutely no proft. The key in a small store like the one you want to open is expansion.........the policy of guys like Eddie Cruz is to be the first one in the given market in several places, the only problem is that today the market is saturated in crucial locations. If you wanted to stay afloat, you would eventually want to expand from Montreal to Toronto, but the Toronto market is already saturated. As far as content goes, by the time most of these designer Japanese brands (NBHD, W)Taps), Bape) break into the U.S. (I am thinking 5 years-maybe never) they might be shit in Japan and even true "afficianados" in the U.S. won't want them. I have worked in consulting and believe me, the market for streetwear/flashy sneakers is not growing as much as stores like Alife, UNDFTD, etc. would like to believe, that is why these guys are opening new stores every month to ensure that they have maximum exposure before the flatline.

My family has always been in banking and when I approached my father with my idea (used to be Worlwide Managing Director for American Express) he told me that roughly 7-10% of retail locations/restaurants were successful and the rest had significant losses that they never recovered from........he told me it was a stupid idea nonetheless

All I am saying is that you can't half-ass an idea like that and expect to get rich off of it, because the truth is, even guys like Eddie Cruz who owns fucking stores everywhere are working their asses off day in day out and aren't making shit........Even in L.A. (which I consider somewhat up-to-date in terms of "streetwear"), shit isn't flying off the shelves, I go to Union alot and I am telling you, they sell Bape shit once a day to some rich-ass son-of-a-movie-star fucko who saw it on his favorite rapper, I mean this stuff is expensive. Japanese are willing to paying $300 for a nice NBHD jumper but it doesn't go over so well here..........eh.....anyways, that was fucking long..........and I am sure I said some stupid shit......maybe something helps though
