  1. I had a similar experience. Paypal will pretty much side with the buyer unless you have some sort of tracking number. Global Express, if I'm not mistaken, is the only service you can use with USPS that offers tracking and its pretty pricey, which discourages buyers. In my case I had my reciept and a proof of mailing. I faxed both of them to paypal and went back and forth with them on email and over the phone with no success. They still refunded the buyer.

Alot of sellers put disclaimers on their auctions, "Not responsible for lost or stole items" Anyone know if such disclaimers cover you in the event of loss or theft?

  2. Yes, I know that there are already quite a few threads out there, but I have exhausted them and am desperately seeking new music.

Here is what I have been listening to, some of which isn't new, but new to me. I haven't necessarily gotten tired of any of this, but just need something fresh.

Neil Young - Living With War

    Elliot Smith - Either Or

    Sufjan Stevens - Illinois

Ben Harper - Both Sides of the Gun

Gnarls Barkley - self titled I think

Etta James - The Chess Box

    Jose Gonzalez - Veneer

    Mason Jennings - Boneclouds

    Matisyahu - Live at Stubbs

  3. If pressed to choose, I'd choose Jarhead. However, I think that choosing one over the other is a relatively arbitrary judgement because I'll be naturally inclined to choose the one that reminds me of the best 5 years of my life.

  4. All I ever shot was paper. What I meant though was that, to me, the way the Marines in that movie were portrayed, is the way it really is. We jerk off, fuck around, are scared shitless sometimes, our women get fucked back home sometimes. At the end of the day though most Marines love the shit. I liked that they didn't try to portray the Marines as caricatures of themselves--which some Marines actually are--but those have been portrayed in film enough and it was nice to a different take on it. Alot of those guys reminded me of guys I knew while I was in. Also, I don't pray for war. I'm for peace, but I know what its like to be trained for war and feel frustrated that your not out "getting some", while others are. Its almost as if someone is carrying your balls for you.

  5. Bladerunner Great film

    Dark City

Full Metal Jacket How could I foget Kubrick the only director to get Marine Corps bootcamp right.

Pi (same director as Reqruiem for a Dream / Aronofsky

    Resorvoir Dogs

Sexy Beast-Ben Kingsley is nuts in this.

    The Usual Suspects

    Cool Hand Luke

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada OUTSTANDING FILM

I guess it depends on generation, but I thought Jarhead accurately represented my experience in the Marine Corps.
