tempted to wash my 3.5 month old oni denim. but i'm really controlling myself. although it has developed some creases and fade marks, i want more coz this will be my rugged, go anywhere jeans.
i'll post the after pic when the 6 month mark comes.
hard to do my regular wear though. the samurai s5000bk just arrived and its hugging the airtime.

btw, pure blue in take5 is out of stock. also beware that they don't have the bag that goes with the ai-001 when you buy it from them. and they claim that it doesn't go with it.

for some reason, no one bothers about denime in this forum...it's probably because it has gone mass marketing...i don't know if the quality is comparable to the more popular japanese premium denim frequently discussed here.

for me, it has to be real leather. real, good leather is sold starting $300 and aboe. most notable are feragammo, and j. tod's...bally is for the 50+ yrs old.

isn't slubby denim so challenging to break in? i just love how the fabric develops when you distress them...

yeah. we're a bunch of snobs here at sf. we don't like mainstream and J Crew is definitely in the thick of things...

....when you wear 17oz denim in a tropical country. (although i try to avoid open areas and stay in airconditioned places. but still!!!!

yup.dry clean. never wash them or else...
you shouldn'thave hemmed them. i made the same mistake with my nudie and now they're too short.

i would go for the duckdiggers because of its distinctiveness relative to the other models other brands has to offer. i also heard that the fabric is made of high quality denim similar to the slubbiness of the pbj x-003 and the oni denim.
sugarcane has a lot more to offer. although the okinawas are great jeans. this may not be their flagship brand. even if the ducks aren't for warehouse, it is the most uniqe and would therefore be special. at least in my eyes. if i would buy warehouse, this will be it.

they will still be the entry level denim for any newbie trying to get into selvage jeans...

the color of the water really seemed to look like blackish-blue.

seems sf is divided on the preferred black jeans currently hot on the threads at the moment. anyone got both? pros & cons? imho, both are nice with different stitching colors that gives it the difference between the two that are noticeably just by looking at pics.

i soaked mine overnight and was initially dark during the first ten minutes. when i checked out the tub after 5 hours, it seem like its turned to a dark blue. i documented it and should post pics later. you be the judge.

xcoldricex, i was interested with goro's when the owner of take5 started chatting to me about it. i thought they were more expensive than what you stated above.
do you have some for yourself? that feather pendant is really nice and i hear it gets better with age.
i just can't sem to find myself wearing accessories other than a watch.

just let nature takes its course. if its quality denim, it will fade nicely. at the end of the day, you'll be wearing them and you'll be the judge if it turns out well. you can't predict for it to be grey unless you or someone has previous experience on the pair. otherwise, you're at the mercy of the moon and the stars.
