  1. First off - there's something here that needs to be nipped in the bud.

Desert boots/wallabee/visvims are NOT dress shoes. I know it's tough for some of the streetwear dudes to conceive of having to dress formally now and again, but I get so fed up of hearing the blogs/websites lauding all these hybrid sneakers like Visvims are being shoes you can wear formally.

You can't. Man it up and get some proper dress shoes.

Now that my little rant is over, here's a good article on why square toes are not good:

Cosign on the recommendations of Paul Smith shoes. If you want some proper dress shoes and are willing to spend a little, check out the english shoe makers like church's, loake, etc.

Also - whomever recommended Barker Black - while they are nice looking, well-made shoes, their $700 price tag is a bit much. Especially when you can get the aforemention british shoes for less.

  2. Nice fit. I did the exact same thing though I'm a little shorter than you. They'll stretch out in time and get more comfortable. Even sooner if you skate or ride.

Cosign - in fact, I think I could've gone a size down to 30 if I wanted a slimmer fit.

  3. That jeans looks sick!!! Where did u buy it?

Where to buy raw japanese 19 cm in LA? I really want to try it on before i do the purchase!! Does the Rodeo Drive DH store carries it? let me know thx!!

    A) read the damn thread. If you're that interested in DH jeans, it's worth your time.

    B) Yes - DH Rodeo Drive would carry those jeans.

  4. lol anyone remember the infamous 4 yr nudies? (flare somethings...)

he never washed them and they'd been repaired a shit load of times

if you wear gloves, wouldnt that solve the problem?

What about their machines that have to work on the dirty soiled clothing? How are you going to protect against that?

Again, ppl are losing sight of the fact that the ppl doing the repairs are not obligated by any means to accept and work on your dirty clothing. And please don't give the whole 'they should accept it to please the customer, etc' argument because I doubt any of you would be pleased if you sent a garment in for altering and it came back soiled, damaged or stained because they used the same machine or workspace that they used to repair some nasty gravy-stained jeans.

I get that ppl've put months into their wear, etc but if you want to get them professionally repaired, you have to deal with the fact that you might have to have them washed/cleaned.

Come on ppl - man it up.

    Just deal with it.

  5. ^ thanks... do you know if they ship? i guess i will give them a call.

They do - give them a call and speak to them - they might need you to fax them some info like your credit card (back and front) as well as your driver's licence.

  6. good looking out. too bad it's still too expensive on dsm though. commonwealth is wack because they want 30$ + 15$ on top of that shipped to canada. ):

Nomad has them in - and they're priced reasonably, i.e. no crazy markups.

  7. lol i was thinking of another word to use, dress pants? lol... well the stacking was sarcasm kinda, i wouldnt want them to stack... just want an idea of how i should tell the tailor to cut them.... thanks!

If you're talking about length, then the tailor'll be able to measure you up and hem accordingly - just make sure you wear the shoes that you'll wearing the pants with most commonly.

If you want to make the pants slimmer, have him take the pants in from the knee or perhaps a tad bit higher.

  8. Most places won't work on unclean/soiled garments and really, why should they?

As for your 'big mistake', she'dve seen the stains at some point when you left and would've either called you to tell you she's not working on it or waited till you came to collect to tell you.
