As far as I know I havenÂft been able to find a store that sells Studio D`Artisan officially in Tokyo. As for Dior, have you tried the Dior boutique in Isetan, Shinjuku? I was there three weeks ago and I recall they had one selvedge pair.

  3. No wild jet lag coming from the North/South America but coming back will hurt. There are tons of cheap restaurants in Tokyo and they are decently good. Don't go to Roppongi. It's filthy. Instead head for Omotesando, Ayoma, Diakanyama, Naka-meguro, etc. They all have a bohemian vibe to it, much chiller. Few foreigners. PM me if you wanna hang out or need more specific advice. Cheers!

  4. Quote: Designworks is a Japanese/UK collab with the Japanese fashion chain Abahouse; they have some cool stuff there, but it's not really in the same league as, say, Comme des Garcons.

Yes. Abahouse isn't on the same level as the high-fashion brands and I don't think they proport themselves to be. The price points and styles are aimed at teens/college/young-adults and the price points and the quality definitely reflects that. I'll be honest that the quality of the shoes is something to be had. For 200+, they are DEFINITELY worth the price, but if you're looking for higher-end quality, there are plenty of other labels. I think the thing that sets Alfredo bannister apart are the styles, which are so unique. They put out styles that no other labels I've seen do so interestingly.

On a completely different matter, went shopping around Tokyo last weekend and discovered this label. Amazing tailored shoes for 500+. Alas, they aren't bepoke/John Lobb quality, but for these price points, they are very well made!

  5. Wow yeah. That's definitely not my style. It feels a little over the top and too pre-2000/raver/techno for my tastes. Also, I can't help but think that I'd be always checking weather my bondage straps would get caught on something like an elevator door. icon_smile_sleepy.gif

  6. Shoes are Alfredo Bannister. As far as I know they are only sold in Japan. Got 'em last spring for around 23,000 yen. You can check out other shoes from the collection here:

As for the trench, I bought it at the Cloak store in NYC for around 1000+.

Too bad I work for a corporate, so I gotta wear a suit five days of the week. icon_smile_dead.gif

  7. haha. I've actually never had anyone tell me that I look like an elf. I suppose if you bent the front of the shoe fairly hard, colored them green, and wore some nylon stocking people would. But on the contrary, its very punk/rock/gothic with some dark slim jeans and a fitted t-shirt and always get complements on them. I guess I'm very comfortable with my fashion and tend to be very progressive. *shrug* Maybe most guys are afraid of standing out and rather opt for some dunks?

  8. I have the trench. Bought it at the Greene New York store. Retail is 1000+. It's cotten though, so if you're looking for something warmer, I'd look elsewhere. But the cut is amazing and looks fire with a pair of slim jeans and a pair of these:

  9. If you just want a simple, cheap pair of winter boots/shoes then I think aldo will do just fine. But don't expect them to last after this winter if you wear em often. The quality and material construction is something to be desired for. I know BR isn't given much thought on this board since its part of GAP and all but thanks to economies of scale, the chesla boots that BR puts out for 150+ are actually very well made and constructed for the money.
