Quote: They also wove the cotton into denim on a type of mechanical loom that had been sitting in factory basements in Okayama, the country's weaving capital, since the seventies.
Interesting. I wonder if it's true.

nice fast wear... some people get very fast wear I don't understand... especially the Japanese with those famous Eternals or those 19oz Samurai, with one month it looks like 4 or 5.

Thanks for the pics, you did a great job.
It's nice to see how they look in good quality pics. Very beautiful jeans.

LFC4ever, pics or comparations between your pairs would be nice.

the wear pattern looks fake. at least weird or unusual.

45 rpm and samurai should be equal in quality, the differences being in the subjectiveness.

I agree. Japanese brands are better (also R&B, 5EP)

why don't they have hidden rivets if they're XX?

first thing that crossed my mind when seeing those pics: RRDS
maybe Eternal 811 or 5EP straight leg (shame those have a zipper fly).
more options: Imperial Duke, APC Rescue, Samurai Momotarou, Denime 66 XX

I've seen a previous thread with pics of a pair that was washed in very hot water, and it looked different than usual, maybe if you search for it you can find it.

griffin, maybe measure the waist of a pair that fits you perfectly, and then order that size, or less (I don't understand, but my 34's seem to be different than minya's. they seem to measure more than 34, whereas minya's seem to measure less?)

yeah, it will look natural. when you see old Levis from 1930 or before, they all end up with a great fade. I bet they weren't worried at that time about the six month before washing, starching and wearing everyday thing.

No idea as to what brands you have in your country, but it should come with instructions about the starch/water ratio. I just thought about it and it seems a good way to get them stiffer.

How long did it take for those to fade, Paul T?

how about ordering some Japanese jeans? loose cuts are VERY common, and the quality is the best.

I think the waist stretches easily, so it will be fine. Although I would machine wash on 60C to get the most shrinkage at once. BTW, what do you think of, after the wash/soak, drowning them in liquid starch/water, and then drying?

I'm in Brazil and I wear denim through every summer too (except at the beach). The humidity is 90% (don't know what that means but it's very humid).

Are These Japanese Jeans Worth $800?

I guess that always happens with clothes in any culture? It must depend more on each person's views, although for a denim lover any denim can be appreciated, I like the Japanese idea of simplicity, imperfection, quality (not only in denim but in everything). If you go against that, you go to hell.
