  1. the "streetwear" scene has gone from people trying to look unique and different to a fucking uniform.

I'm just sitting back and watching now, because the whole "subculture" WILL implode, and no matter how much Bobby Hundreds (or ALMOST any other related "brand") is trying to fight it, he/they are actually contributing to it.

There is some truth to "Don't be bitter, be better", but it's hard to get past the metric assloads of pure bullshit.

  2. I would have to say he IS a barker, but only howls occassionally. In a way, he's a great guard dog in that his bark makes him sound bigger/badder than he really is. i think it's funny when delivery people come to the door and are afraid of him, because he barks when the doorbell rings. He's a 50 pound baby still.

  3. I feel that withiut an air of authenticity to them, cargos look really contrived and wack. That being said, I also would say that w)taps, maharishi, Acronym, and even Stussy (at times) make great cargos (BDUs) that draw back to authentic military details. Masons makes a slimmer, more authentic inspired cargo, but in general cargos are meant to be at least somewhat loose fitting/baggy.

  4. What are those fucks at SB gonna do wrong next?

    Minutemen dunks?

    Crass P-Rods?

    How about Ramones Blazers?

Did they do silver to match Mascis' hair?

    Garbage.

Your'e Living All Over Me is a classic, but there's something I really love about Dinosaur...probably Forget The Swan and Repulsion....

  5. Ton Kiang is good, but definitely more catered to caucasians. Yank Sing is really good, too. But the best Dim Sum in the SF Area is Koi Palace out by Serramonte. Closest to HK that you're gonna find in the bay area. ALSO, Green Tea and Dim Sum? Japanese and Chinese? Never heard of green tea at a dim sum joint.

  6. I understand and appreciate the sentiment, I own many repros and have bought both repros and japanese denim FOR Levi's as design samples that were never seen by legal, but think of ot this way:

It is going to encourage most of these companies to come up with ORIGINAL, iconic trademarks themselves. I'm exited as a designer to see what some of these companies will do design-wise in response.

  7. Most of you art missing the point. First of all, this is nothing new, Levi's has been sending cease and desist letters since they re-established their trademark in the 40's. SEARS of all companies were throwing arcuates on their jeans in the 30's to try and persuade their customers into buying a pair of "levis".

If you really want to place some blame, put it on publications like the San Francisco Chronicle, for writing a story on Self Edge and their stock. this, more than likely, got some of the heads in the "plaza" going, and now, since all of these Japanese denim companies, who ablsolutely KNEW already about their infringements, have started shipping product to the US, where trademark laws are more stringent, are succeptible to seizure. AND, since the product is already sold (bought by accounts), it is unfortunately the accounts that will see the backlash the most from this. to bring it kind of "down to earth", in the eyes of Levi's, these stores are selling bootleg product (quality has absolutely NOTHING to do with this case, Levi's could give a fuck what the quality is on a pair of jeans that is ripping off their brand assets.

we can love these companies all we want, but the point is this: they have blatently stolen trademarked property, whether in reverence or not. Face it, they ARE in the wrong in the eyes of the law, NO CONTEST. There is no way that Levi's can be contested legally, they have been doing this for years, they are arguably the most recognizable intellectual iconic property in a garment ever.

  8. I don't understand how someone can be 6 gs in CC debt. That is just plain irresponsible in my opinion. I am not mocking you or anything but I just can't comprehend that. I have 3 CC but pay them off every month. So no debt for me.

Like I said, I'll be able to pay it off and more when I get my tax return. It' s only been 6 g's for a couple of months (holidaze drove that in a big way). Plus it's the card I share with my wife, so really it's not that big of a deal. I'm also a grown man that knows how to deal with my money properly.
