Hey what models is/are this/these? I've been trying to look but haven't found anything yet...? Would be really useful in the July heat.

  2. I think it's a well established, known argument (/fact) that Nike produces its shoes in Vietnamese sweatshops with minimum costs and maximum profit. Phil Knight is a billionaire. The athletes promoting the shoes are millionaires. The employees making the shoes probably work 7 days a week, at about $1 a day.

However, apart from a few classic models - Adidas, Puma, especially New Balance and the rest - wack all the way. :) Nike has the coolest designs, colorways and models; the most amazing ad campaigns and marketing.

    Nike! Nike! Nike!

  3. True, but if you don't care about brands that much, you can often just copy the look. I know, it rarely looks exactly the same (the issues of quality and is it custom made) and in some items like leather jackets and shoes, you can read "cheap" a mile away. With suits on the other hand, it's all about the fit and look - not about the brand. So you can skimp a little there.

  4. 1. Dior Homme by Slimane - why? i don't have the bank balance of, say, Sting

    2. Prada (or Gucci, or Versace, or...) - same here

    3. CDG - really like some of the long sleeved (dress) shirts but haven't invested in them yet

    4. DPMHI

    5. like Psyiko, I've always wanted that Bape camo hoody and/or jacket, but never got the chance

  5. Ocean's Eleven was a cool, smart heist flick with an amazingly funky score; bought it on dvd also. Ocean's Twelve on the other hand blows big time. The ridiculous Julia Roberts "cameo/plot twist" near the end was such ego-masturbation that I almost threw up. The only reason watching it to the end was indeed the wardrobe and the stunning locations. Any info on the stuff in 12 would be greatly appreciated... or is it custom stuff also? Probably something I can't afford anyway...

  6. I don't care, both the ads and the girls in them are hot. And name one clothing company / fashion house that doesn't use sex in their ads these days - from H&M (the billboards) to Gucci.

(By the way, what kind of a name is 'Dov'? Is it like 'dove'?)

  7. London -

    - Bond International (in soho, close to Busy Workshop, Hideout etc.)

    - for sneakers, try also Slammin' Kicks, My Trainers, and Size?

    - maybe some big brand concept stores closeby like Ben Sherman, Energie, 55DSL - might sometimes have sth interesting

    - for a more "mainstream" thing, go to Urban Outfitters and High Jinks

    - for everything in men's clothing, go to Selfridge's men's dept - it's a must

  8. (I was about to start a similar thread, glad I don't have to now.)

    So is Diesel wack?

How about the rest of the S/S line? On some previous collections I haven't been feelin' that whole "expensive lumberjack theme" they've had going on. Or is it rock star, I don't know. But I kinda like some of the stuff in this season's selection. (Still a bit pricey for stuff that's made in countries like Vietnam, Thailand etc. Well most of it is anyway.) The denim is sometimes great, sometimes not. Usually I've been able to find the best fits from them, but some of the prints and washes just scream "I wanna be different!" and are not for me.

What're your thoughs on Diesel's "sister label", 55DSL? Lots of rainbow colors there, at least.

  9. [sigh] Everytime somebody's traveling to Japan or Hongkong, these types of threads appear. How about checking out the parent site for Superfuture first??! I mean the whole point of this website is to help shoppers find what they want. (The bbs community is just secondary imho) The maps are more than amazing, and seem to be also updated as new stuff comes along.

You asked about happenings and events. Is it so hard to google something like "japan tourism" to find sth like this: http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/index.html.

Then you could also buy a "conventional" travel guide, like Time Out's guide to Tokyo (I like it) - http://www.timeout.com/travel/tokyo/

When you're there buy a copy of Boon, Street Jack, Smart etc. Lots of ads for shops in those as well as guidelines on what to fiend for.

    PEACE! peace.gif
